Forgot to mention that I have not had the colors tint my lips but then I just use a little bit of color.
-
I have the lip safe colorants from The Sage, they work great, I just dip a toothpick in the color and then stir it into my melted lip balm base - a little goes a long way

They are all very nice, my favorite is the Blue/Yellow/White soap - way cool! :smiley2:

Islandgirl - your animated gif is hilarious

Love the soap - my favorite color...and I love mojitos!
-
They look great, good job

Do you mean like a kelsi mold?
-
Nice soaps! What colorant did you put in the Liquid crack one to get that color?
-
Thanks Candybee.
I usually pay attention to make sure it is labeled body safe but missed the boat on this one
-
I am just curious what makes some FO's not body safe? Is it that they just have not been tested? I ordered a FO that I though was body safe and then noticed on the bottle is is not, I was so bummed because it smells soooo good.

You site looks great, love the colors and the rose picture! I do agree about the pics, if you used a white backgroud or a more neutral colored background it would make your products stand out and look more professional. :smiley2:

Last weekend I made 2 batches of soap that I have made before. I usually put my lye water in the garage over night and soap at room temperature and have no problems. Well, we had a lot colder weather here in AZ than normal and I didn't think about the fact the garage was a lot colder. My lye did not freeze but it was very cool. Anyways, my soap traced so fast, I didn't even have enough time to thoroughly add much color. I had to scoop the soap into the mold. I ended up tossing the soap in the trash because I hated it, what a waste of oils!
I would wait until the lye water warms up to room temperature before using.

I sent you a pic on Feb 4 to your email address you provided, let me know if you didn't get it and I will resend. I really like the soap and lotion!

I have never used the Avery labels for my products, only envelopes - I just love the software though. I buy from onlinelabels and then create my label template to use with the Avery Software.
-
I do not use Online Labels templates, I prefer Avery Label Designer. Online Labels provides the dimensions and then I create my label template in Avery Label Designer. What's nice about the avery software is that you can create tabs for each FO and only print the quantity you want.
-
I order mine from Online Labels http://www.onlinelabels.com/
You have to order a larger quantity but I like that they come in plastic container boxes -helps me keep my labels organized.

Great ideas, thanks!
Kitn - what kind of tape do you use?

I shipped some lotions to my sis in PA and 2 of them opened. I am wondering how everyone packages their lotions to keep them from opening due to pressure?
-
Yuck! I can't believe she is trying to sell that stuff.

Very pretty! :smiley2:

I didn't mix the pink mica with anthing, just mixed it straight into my oil/lye mixture. At least I had made 2 logs of the same soap that day and the other one came out great. Definitely a mystery. Thanks for all your input into my mystery soap problem! :smiley2:

I used:
25% Palm
25% Coconut
10% Beef Tallow
5% Castor
5% Avacado butter
30% Soybean Oil
The top half I used TKB Green Apple Pop mica, that part it just fine.
The bottom half I used Peak's Pearl Pink mica.
No cracks in it.

It does not zap so that is good.
It is just so weird that I only made one batch, mixed well to very light trace and then split it to create a bar with 2 different colors. The top half of the bar is just perfect, the bottom part had the problem. I was thinking that it had to do with overheating.
I will just have to watch it for a while and see if it ever hardens.
