  1. Most crafters/chandlers I have talked to over the last year have noticed a dramatic drop in sales and its all due to the economy. Plus I have to agree with Pinetree on the fact that there has been a huge influx of people making candles and I think the public is just bored with it.... but it fluctuates, so maybe in a year or so, it will pick back up...

  2. In search for fluted tin pans. Colonial tin just emailed me that they no longer make or sell these. I think Irvins does, but am looking for wholesale if possible...... any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  3. I have been using Just Scent JSB 50/50 wax for a few years now.... It used to be great, but I am now running into many problems with it. It must not be the same anymore - it is VERY inconsistent. Does anyone know of a good 50/50 wax or a good clean burning blend? How is Joywax? Des it burn clean? Thanks!

I have used JOY wax for years. Even tho I am getting away from soy all together, I am extremely happy with it. It has awsome cold and hot throw, and burns very clean..... I would definately give it a thumbs up

  4. I use DIYeStores and I do the real time shipping. Basically what that means is that I am linked into the USPS shipping charts. As you build your site, you put the weights of each product in the description. As the customer clicks on an item to buy, the calculater estimates how much it will cost per weight. It is really easy to use. You can also just do a flat rate shipping..... say 0-15.00 will be 6.00..... 15.01 to 25.00 would be 8.00 etc etc....... does that make sense? lol..... its still early and im not fully functioning...lol.....

  5. You are welcome to check out my site at http://www.DIYeStores.com

It's a do it yourself website builder but we do offer the service to do all the work for you as well for those that don't want to do it themselves. If you click on Additional Services you will see our rates for website setup.

If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know.

Thanks and good luck to you!

I definately give Shelly and her gang a double thumbs up. They are AWSOME.... have been with em for over a year now, and have nothing but good to say:yay:

  6. when I make my ornies, I always make sure there is a small hole and use some hemp as the string to hang them with.... maybe you could do the same thing, only make the ornie in a heart shape and then use the appropriate color ribbon..... just an idea.. :D

  7. Lets see.... besides the candles of course, I dabbled in the B&B, but chose to stop.... my all time favorite hobby (besides candles) is stained glass.. I also do some beaded jewelry, Hemp jewelry. DW crochet's, cross stitches, latch hook, and absolutely ADORES miniture doll houses... I think thats it.....lol

  8. that looks really cool.... I had a similar idea, but was gonna set a tealight mold in the gel as it was setting up... then remove it and place an actual tealight.... never got around to trying it, but now that itch is back, so guess im gonna have to now....lol..... good work..... keep us informed:highfive:

  9. ok, here's one for you, on the peach candles i did, i had a tester i quess you could say, 1/2 pint, filled about 1/2 way, it burned well for awhile, i would blow it out, burn some more, blow out and so on til it was about an inch left, when it got that low, the top of jar began sooting up..i would say the top 2 inches. what caused this? and that is one thing i hate in candles that i buy:mad:

oh yeah, the candle kit is under accessories on farm house, i did go into another page and looked at there different types of wax and found what i think is it...but...... i forgot what it was called..:undecided

The sooting problem could be the type of wick you are using, or it could be something as simple as not trimming it back to 1/4 in after your last burn...

  10. The sleeve is used to hold embeds in place. If you aren't using any, then you don't need it. You have to keep lifting the sleeve every 2-3 as it's cooling so that it doesn't stick to the bottom.

ohhhhhhhhhhh ok.....think I understand now...lol.... gonna get some hurricane wax and start experimenting..... good thing about it is.... if I screw it up, it goes right back in the melting pot.......lol

  11. ok.... now i have another question...lol.... i read the instructions from this site and was wondering..... is this a hollow tube or does it develop a bottom on it? I mean, I have the mold and sleeve, so when I take the sleeve out and dump out the remaining wax, does a bottom form or does it come out with the sleeve?
