  1. Keep in mind that 6006 wax is mostly paraffin.

It's about 75% paraffin and 25% soy. Sometimes it soots and sometimes it doesn't. It depends on the oils you are using.

It makes a nice candle. Needs to be poured hot. Sometimes you will get some sink holes, but you can do a repour or hot gun the tops.

It has good jar adhesion. Minimal wet spots. Be sure to warm the jars. 1 oz fragrance oil per pound is usually sufficient for a good scent throw.

I prefer zinc wicks with this wax.

I don't use any additives at all. I don't even add any soy too it. Just dye and fragrance.

  2. I use WSP stabilizer too. It never occurred to me to put it in every batch. I spend a lot of time looking for fragrances with no vanilla in them. I have found that sometimes even with the stabilizer that some fragrances still turn.

  3. Type of Soy or Soy Blend you use?

    Ecosoya CB Advanced

    Additives if any?

    None

    Preferred dyes?

    Liquid or Dye Blocks

    Preferred wick (Not sizes)?

    LX

    Pouring temp you recommend?

    I don't use a prefered temp. I pour when I'm done stirring.

What you do to prevent frosting?

CB Advanced doesn't have many frost issues

What you do to prevent rough tops?

CB Advanced doesn't have rough tops. If it sinks or cracks a little around the wick, I gently and quickly melt with heat gun just enough to smooth it.

Do you do anything to prevent wet spots?

    Nothing

  4. I had a problem with them once too a few months ago. We went round and round through email and over the phone. Finally I decided to let it go because they weren't budging even though the mistake is so obvious. I'd rather not go into detail because I still use them. Needless to say the mistake is still on their site though. Other than that I am happy with them.

By the way. I left (polite & honest) feedback for that item on their website, correcting their mistake so others would know. My feedback was promptly removed and swept under the rug. *shrugs*

  5. Yes! I've ordered oils more than once from same suppliers (names withheld). Some have smelled different and the oil color has changed, one being darker than the other. It made me question the quality. I haven't candled with them yet though. So I can't comment on how they will do in wax.

  6. Who has the best? I need it for candles, soap and bath & body. I need one that is really good. I've tried AromaHaven/RusticEscentials but I'm not too sure about it. I ordered 2 different versions from them, but they sent me the same one twice so I don't really have much to go on yet.

    TIA! :)

  7. My favorite companies for fragrances are AromaHaven/RusticEscentials and Candle Science. The Bitter Creeks both have some good ones that i buy faithfully. I've heard that DayStar is really good, too, but I've never used them yet.

  8. I love SFIC bases! I use the white, then I add my own goat's milk and oils. Haven't had a problem with drying at all. They are creamy smooth lathery and moisturizing. You have to play until you get the right balance. Unfortunately it expensive during the testing stages. The method I use is perfect, but you'd have to torture me to get my secrets. :laugh2:
