I set up a table at our local flea market this weekend...the only sales I got were from friends and family I told before hand. I later heard that there was a huge craft fair the same day...should've been there .

Hello all,

1-I will be setting up my first booth this weekend at our local flea market...I'm very excited and a bit nervous ....any tips..words of advice??

2-My church will be purchasing a few of my candles to sell at the book store....I am super excited...I'm starting out with 3 designs and will see what happens.

3-Now my trademark questions--I make a lot of chunk candles--since I live in Florida (Gators country) will I be braking any tm laws if I make an alligator inbed (not the tm image) with blue and orange chunkies?

I completely agree. When I first started out, I was looking for the best deals...$10 a pd. I ended up wasting my money. Go with a well known company, even if you have to spend a few extra bucks!

Have you totally dismissed a scent by it's OOB smell? I almost did that this weekend. Apple Jack Peel sticks out of bottle, but once it's in wax, it smells wonderful !

I make a lot of chunk candles and use 24, 27 and 30 ply. Right now I'm experimenting with UA and stearic to make my candles a little harder.

I have someone ordering 30 Hurricanes. This is my first order with this person. My hurricanes are pretty reasonably priced. Not sure though if this amount warrants some type of discount..is there a formula out there !

How many items does someone have to order to give them a wholesale acct.? or do they have to spend a certain amount for you to charge them wholesale? Thanks !

I use a square metal spachula and dip my picture (paper) in the wax first..let it cool a little then insert it again when I get ready to use the ice. The ice is so much better than using a cold rag .

I tried the 30 ply but it doesn't leave as much of a shell. I'm also trying 27ply.

I read the post on buldging with 1343..great results. I have a question. I'm using 4625 overpour with chunks made with 1343. I used 24 ply wick and got some buldging during my 5th burn. I really like the 24 ply since it leaves a shell..Do you think I can add a little stearic to the 4625 to make it a little harder? Other info: I'm using a square mold 3x3x4.5 and scent was cotton blossom..Does too much scent cause buldging? In my case I added 9% to 8 oz of wax. Thanks for your help.
