  1. Thanks Valerie, makes me feel alot better, these days I am always weary about giving out information. Have had someone attempt to use my husband's identity, but lucky for us Sears was on the ball and we were notified in time to stop anything. I have been cautious every since. Thanks, Cheers, Di
  2. Can you let us know a little about yourself? Who is backing this magazine, who you are, your experience? I am a little weary of sending my personal information at this point, your profile and this thread contain no indicators--just being a bit protective before I give my information. I don't intend this in negative fashion, I am excited to see a trade magazine myself. Thanks
  3. Has anyone seen White Tea and Lily--the new scent from Glade? I have a customer requesting. I have searched high and low and am thinking it may be too soon for a dupe. If you have seen this anywhere, please let me know. Thanks, Di
  4. I always make one tart of each of the scents I have available at a show. Then I line them up at the front table of the booth in the metallic tart cups--labelled with the scent name underneath. People come in and pick them up automatically and smell the scents there, then pick the type jar/tart they want in that scent. It stops people from ever having to pick up any merchandise and although the little guys are always running around picking up and smelling the tarts, at the end of the day, I just have beat up tarts that I will use at home--and I haven't ever had any damaged merchandise. Some of the children will even scout scents for mom--they always tell her what they like best

  6. Ones I got were prepackaged, dried and crumbly. Bought them from someone else though so they could have been more moist at the time of sale. hth
  7. I live about an hour away from them. I have bought some jars and not much else. They are a very small storefront with a little office and only one girl working in there when I went in--handling the computers and all. They had a warehouse setup behind the storefront and that was it. I imagine if they get busy they don't have the manpower--I have no idea how many staffed the back though. I didn't have any problems myself, wasn't overly impressed with the appearance of the place and found that I can get stuff cheaper even paying shipping than what they charge on some items. They do good on their sale prices though.
  8. Beth is right, each state varies. I live in AZ and you can do it both ways, adding it in is called factoring and AZ actually gives you a chart with the number to multiply by to factor out the taxes; however, the guy who taught the tax seminar I attended said it varied by states and some states do not allow that.
  9. www.candlewic.com has some bulb jars, frosted tumblers and frosted apoths. hth
  10. I make tarts in all the scents I am taking. I keep them in the little tart cups (the ones similar to the cupcake ones) and I label the names on the bottom. I keep them on the front of my stall and the customers just walk up, pick them up, sniff and flip over if they like the scent. Keeps them from opening the candles and other products I have there and makes it easier for them to pick a scent.
  11. Sheesh, I guess my bad. I must have been raised in another century where doing illegal things WAS bad. Now it is considered acceptable for businesses to libel and invade privacy laws? No wonder people get away with so much these days. Morals have gone down the toilet. These are ILLEGAL things and you don't think there is anything wrong with it? I guess if you ever personally have a problem with her company and then it is you who is being libeled or your information being given out publicly, then you probably would care. I mean why care if it doesn't affect you personally? I think that is the standard anymore, why people watch crimes and turn the other cheek, "doesn't affect me, let me go stick my head in the sand." Very sad indeed.:embarasse
  12. Please don't ever compare me with those people. I have never in the past and never will in the future post people's personal information on the web. I don't libel. I don't post people's debts online. All of those things are illegal and unreputable. I don't see BC, ICS, Candlewic or any of the larger suppliers doing this, simply because they wouldn't. There are way too many complaints regarding this company for all of them to be untrue. I haven't called any names, I am annoyed that the truth is being twisted. If you think I am lying, by all means pm me and I will let you see the emails to back what I have said.
  13. I ordered from her on a Monday and never got an invoice. Says 3-5 days on her site so at the end of the week I cancelled after getting nervous about all the negative posts about her company. Then someone posted this customer review board where Suppliers bash their customers. She had posted on there that people had placed orders had cancelled 1-2 days later and were flakes. I did not cancel in that timeframe, I waited. She lies on the site to make it seem as if the customers are wrong and she is the victim. I was quite horrified to see the way some of the suppliers talk about customers. Several other suppliers on there bashing as well, rather sad. I think they have the opinion they are "above" everyone and that their customers are sheep. If you want to be shocked, have a look: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CustomerReview/messages
