  1. OK I'll try. YOur name makes me focus in on the wick and flame. So what about some kind of line drawing of a flame that has just a hint of a secondary form in it, maybe a tornado (that you don't want but it does come immediately to mind), the ruby red slippers or something else just vaguely occultish. I thinking the kind of thing where at first glance you have a simple flame, but on closer look there is a secondary form would make it memorable. If it was a line drawing or something else simple it could be elegant yet intriguing. If only I could draw well enough to show you the kind of thing I am thinking about.
  2. If I got a mottle like that on 3 candles, I don't think I could bring myself to do a test burn. They'd be sitting somewhere prominentally on display in my house for months. That mottle with that colour is just awesome.
  3. My niece and nephew are coming over this weekend to make some gel aquariums. They will be double glassed because that's all I am confident enough that I can make safely. I know my sister is planning to give these away as gifts. I've made and tested a good number of these, but I've never had any of my gel candles given to someone I don't know, and didn't talk to directly to stress proper burning instructions. I always put a little card with anything I give away with proper burning instructions, but since these may go further afield I'd like to put a warning label on the bottom. Can anyone supply me with the appropriate warning and care info for a label on this type of gel candle? Thanks in advance.
  4. I haven't posted any pictures on the new board, and I haven't seen too many containers lately, so I thought I'd share something I've been working on. My brother-in-law was joking that he wanted a candle that reminded him of younger days, when he burned candles and incense to cover up the smell of other things he 'burnt". So I've been trying to come up with something that reminded me of my impression of the drug-hazed '70s (it's all heresay, I was in grade school). I haven't quite got what I'm looking for, but I'm getting closer. This is scented with a Patchouli/Sandalwood blend, and made with 4627.
  5. Hi All. I haven't posted since the new forum went up, but I have been lurking and reading and getting inspired. Last weekend my DH and I planned a romantic getaway around running across the Canada/US boarder to get a couple Presto pots I've heard everyone rave out. (Yup, we chose Niagra Falls not because of the falls, or the vineyards or the "romance", but because it was an easy place to get a cross the boarder and to Walmart.) I know some people add spigots and some don't, and I'd like to know which way people prefer, because once the pots are drilled there's no going back, and it took me a year to make this trip a reality. If it makes any difference I am just a hobbiest, I never pour large quantities of anything. So which do you prefer Presto pots with a spigot or without?
