  1. Thanks for the compliments. Yes, I find soaps that come out differently are usually liked by everyone else because others don't have a preconceived idea of what it should have looked like. The Sweet Freesia was a new recipe so I wasn't sure what would happen.

  2. I also use shrink wrap. When I first started out I used saran wrap. For samples I put a small piece in a little bag for customers to sniff but love the idea of wrapping the sample in shrink wrap. I'm getting a new soap display made by a friend and the way I have samples now may not work.

I'll have to post pictures of the soap stands once I get them.

  3. Kitn,

I own a mandolin and never thought of using it for M&P. Now that's a smart idea. Now I can't wait for work to be over so I can go home and try it out. Dreaming of soap ideas already.

  4. Wow, everyone sounds so busy with all their shows. Hope you all did well. I just have one more show next week-end and then I'm done. One show I did this year for the second time was great but the other two were disappointing (one was a first) and the other just wasn't well attended and people just weren't buying.

My last one is one I do every year as it's the Christmas show of the market I sell at 6 months a year so it's usually good.

    comfortscents,

Sorry to hear about your daughter and hope you do well in your space.

  5. I love the green and the scent sounds great too. I started with M&P, then HP which a friend taught me then learned CP though tonnes of library books and help from forums etc. I could never get my HP to look that great so jumped into CP right away. I find that CPOP is similar to HP.

I also am inspired constantly by members on this board and the learning never stops and I'm always anxious to try a new idea.

  6. Scented,

Yes that is the right link. I've used various suppliers in Canada and a few in the US and this one is top notch.

    Kitn,

Here is what I've used and really like:

-Coconut (just got it and haven't used it yet, it's a bit different from the two Coconuts I've purchased from other suppliers. It's more of a cool scented coconut versus a warm scent. I'll have to soap with it and see how it turns out.

-Creme Brulee (just got it but it smells identical to another supplier I usually get this from and it's divine)

-Cucumber (tried this once for a special request and it's really nice)

-Endless Sea (just love this scent and consistently order it)

-Fig and Melon (nice and fresh one of my favourites)

-Gardenia (love this one as well and it's a new favourite, used it in soap and plan to make a candle with it this week-end)

-Lavender (this is great in soap and in soy candles)

-Lily of the Valley (my mom's favourite scent and it's beautiful)

-Oceanus (I used to work for The Body Shop years ago) and this one is a great dupe (great in soap and soy candles)

-Rain (this is delicate but really great)

Think I've tried their red rose too but can't remember and it was great as well.

  7. Nice soap, I also order from Voyageur and love their customer service. I just placed an order with them last week and will have to try Sensual Amber in my next order. I also love their French Vanilla and Gardenia. The only scent I haven't liked is their Cranberry Plum.

  8. I'm in Canada and Canwax (http://www.canwax.com) frequently has sales throughout the year on their Ecosoy wax and Voyageur (http://www.voyageursoapandcandle.com/store/shop.asp) also has sales throughout the year on their Enchanted Lites soy. I've tested both and order both types so I never tend to run out and I always buy bigger amounts when it's on sale so I have it when I need it.

Both of the places I mentioend might ship to the US as well.
