  1. They all look great but I'm crazy about the first red one with M&P and CP mixed. I made a CP one that had a top that was unever and I poured M&P over the top about a day after I made it and it held together fine. I've never tried adding M&P inside the batch though and it looks cool.

Can I ask what red you used? No worries if it's a secret. I've never had a red like that. I have BB red for melt and pour and only used it once but don't think I used enough because I didn't get a red like that.

  2. Hello,

Lately I've been making a lot of products. We had a huge specialty day 2 weeks ago so I wanted to have a lot of things on hand for that.

    Organic Facial Cleanser:

Aromatherapy Stress Buster Inhaler (with my custom blend of EO's):

    That's all for now.

  3. Thanks everyone for your comments.

    Dawn,

Great idea about the measuring out ahead of time. I've yet to try master batching but I think that would solve my problem except that I don't keep my bar size consistent but could have to master batches one for one size bar and one for the other. It would make life so much easier.

I did though after 8 years stop using a thermometer for my CP soaps and that makes life easier for sure.

  4. I don't have your exact mold but I'll tell you what I do. I use mineral oil on the inside of the mold and brush it on with a brush. I've started using SL recently but didn't for a long time and I'm impatient with unmolding so found mineral oil worked well.

Someone said (can't remember where I read it) that you can use cooking spray but I think this would saponify with the soap.

  5. Just a curiousity question. My favourite soap recipe uses 8 oils and sometimes 9. I've been tweaking my recipe lately and every blue moon I make a 3 or 4 oil soap recipe. I love my current recipe but it takes time measuring out 8 oils.

Do the majority of your use an 3 oil recipe or a larger one? Do you find that more oils or less oils makes your soap better?

  6. I haven't tried that recipe, but I have made a chocolate/coffee goat milk soap that I called Choco-Latte Brownie. It smelled great and sudsed just fine, but didn't appeal to customers. People would pick it up, sniff it, say Yummy!, and then put it down to choose a non-food scented bar. I even found that I didn't prefer it so when it was all gone I didn't choose to make it again.

It is a cool novelty soap though. :) Kids might like it, but I'd be afraid they'd try to take a bite! :rolleyes2

I have had the same problem with chocolate soap. I have a Banana one that I think is divine and everyone loves the smell but chooses something else. The only foodie scent people seem to like is Sugar or Vanilla. I haven't made a chocolate soap in ages. I had that problem with coffee soap too but think I'll try it again now that it's been few years but make a very small batch.

  7. Thanks everyone.

    Scented,

The stain stick works well but I'm going to recommend it for whites as I've tried it on coloured clothes and it takes a bit of colour out. I didn't intend for this to happen as it was an accident and I tried a new recipe.

The dead sea mud worked well but it traced fast due to all the different things I did this time: changed my recipe, used Sodium Lactate, used fast tracing EO's.

I've used my dead sea before to make masks but was dying to try it in soap.

  8. Here are the latest soapies I've made:

Laundry Powder (this will go in cute little containers). I found out I'm allergic to laundry soap so made a big batch:
