  1. There are so many different factors for a wax not to perform. Some has nothing to do with the supplier or yourself, has everything to do with the wax/fo combo just doesn't work. And some of you(as myself) found the fo/wax combo that worked for you, and then for whatever reason...you changed wax,and the same fo doesn't work!( our problem)It is not our supplier its the combo not working! However our wax did change to begin with, that is why we are on a new wax formula. Gosh are any of us sane? Anyeway I hope that makes sense, if not maybe someone else will say it better. Have a blessed day, LeeAnn~

  2. Have you changed cases of wax? Different batch numbers? I recently switched wax(due to that very problem) and I have a few oils( Two most favs) in my new wax that is giving me fits! I am having to change my wick fo to tweek this fragrance! And my leather is driving me crazy! I am very picky...have tried every leather and the one I use isn't acting like it did! If I can not get it to behave to my expectation...I will have to move on to a different supplier. :( (anyway just a little food for thought....) Have a blessed day, LeeAnn~

  3. I was hoping to hear from you Stella! You mentioned that you did 4" soy, did you double wick? Also the wick you suggested to me for my 4" palm did you mean try double wicking the CDN20 or 22? I don't understand why some people say that to save time and wax if your wick is not burning right to just blow it out and pull it out with pliers and insert another wick. First of all like you said how do you know if it is burning good until you let it burn all the way down. I tried the plier thing once and the wick would not come out and my whole candle slid out of my jelly jar and then cracked. I valve your opinion so what do you think that using 1.8 oz of oil/2lbs of palm wax could make such a big difference in smelling a scent than if you used 2 oz/ 2lb. of wax?

We definantly change wicks with pliers. If the wick gets a week flame, if its not throwing in 30 min..change wick! About the time you have it figured out something else will change...and back to testing! But also after you figure out which wick with pliers...When you repour that scent you still do a full test burn! Doesn't take the full test away...just the number of candles it takes to find the right wick! LeeAnn~

  4. >> Try a guys cologne with it!

Thanks Leeann. That's exactly what I was asking for in my original post. A masculine leather. :smiley2: I already have a feminine leather and it's well loved by the leather crowd here. But straight leather? Maybe for a vet...or a rodeo show...or maybe even a western wear store..but I can't think of much else it's good for. (LOL)

    Mt Annie

on my to trys list also was some pipe tobacco with leather! I had heard that awhile back...just hadn't played with it yet! LeeAnn~

  5. We love our leather! So do our customers. A Vetenary clinic...stocks my Leather N Lace...she loves, lovesloves it! My daughters daycare...same thing! The director loves it too! Personally one of my favs also. But then again we love leather! Try a guys cologne with it! We are working on that...and just about have it...this one is great too! So you can get a sexy leather...we do, feminine and masculine. LeeAnn~ :smiley2:

  6. We use fireplace from GL and absolutly loved it! Well we changed wax and of course...that fo is not working out now( sad,sad day). Anybody know of a close dup? I did do a search...but I think maybe my nose isn't sure exactly what I am picking up. I looked up peaks spruce tree...but that had something mixed with it. Does pine and cedar smell the same? different? Maybe if someone has smelled this scent they can point me in a direction. Thanks, LeeAnn~

  7. I vote for the blend! I will say I am currently testing 4 waxes with different combos...couple are pariffin blends so when we are testing if the parifin blend is better that is what we will go with. My goal is great quality, creamy, smooth, excellent throw. I am not trying to market soy or pariffin, which ever has the better candles with those qualitys. LeeAnn~

  8. Hi LeeAnn,

Were you able to double wick the GL-70/30 in the 16 oz. jars with the batch you are saying is from the "devil"? I am going to run some tests at a lower percentage of oil, and see if that will help. What FO percentage do you use in the 70/30? Thanks again.

    ~Holly

We do double wick the 16. We did use 12% but also did 6%,8% when we noticed it to be different...nothing helped. most will say why use that much, just our prefrence...we waited for a different shipment of 70/30...still was NOT what we had in the past. So as of right now Husband is bringing home 4 other waxes! hopefully something will come of it. I don't even know what to tell you to do...this came at us out of no where! We had everything perfect and poof( as alot have experienced) all your testing, hardwork, out the window) I am just able to speak for that batch number...its probably NOT you. and we tested a new batch this weekend...HT was very week, CT was okay. So we are moving on. LeeAnn~

  9. Hi LeeAnn,

I have had this trouble with every case of the GL-70/30. But, I have posted this problem on the GL board a long time ago and there are members there that said they have sucessfully double wicked this wax in the bigger/deeper jars. Seems like there are always different outcomes for everyone and what will work well for one may not for another.

I never really noticed any inconsistencies between the batches that I have gotten -- wicking inconsistencies or the look of the wax. I did not use it real long though - a good year anyway. I can double wick it fine in the 10 oz. apothecaries, but not the 16 oz. or anything deep, unless I single wick it. But then if I single wick it in tall wide jars it is hard to get a full meltpool and I like double wicking scent throw the best for these jar sizes. It is an awesome wax in many ways, and I wish I could get it to work with large/deep jars - double wicked.

I have one case left which is Lot #B0700990 -- this is the case I am currently testing.

    Thanks for the response. :)

I believe that is the batch from the devil! I will double check. I double wick my 10 and 16oz. Thanks LeeAnn!

  10. Hi,

I will give it a try too and keep an open mind and try not to assume. Different blends will have different results but maybe what works in your blend could work in these.

Do you use between 8-9 percent oil?

Maybe someone will chime in here that uses the Comfort Blend and/or the 70/30.

I have a lot of work to do. :wink2:

ummm what batch number of the 70/30 are you currently using? We love the 70/30 had NO problems with it and we got a batch that was umm not so pleasant to work with and it had those same problems. LeeAnn~
