  1. LOOKING FOR FO's THAT THROW WELL IN THIS WAX. LET ME KNOW. ALSO IF YOU USED ANY ADDITIVE, BEES WAX, CO, ETC..... Thank you.
  2. AWESOME! Well let us know how they turn out. Very curious. Please add pix when done. I am looking at using that same wax. I just ordered 50 lbs of eco soya cb advanced c-3 and gb444 and 5lbs of beeswax from Peaks. Wanted to try a few different things. This is the beginning of my testing. Any info I can find is always appreciated. This I can tell is going to cost a fortune. Once I get all my supplies, this will be my first round at trying to make candles. I think I may have gone overboard. But so many people liked so many different types, so I just picked a few different ones and will see what happens.
  3. That is funny, but true.... I am new to candle making, but have worked many many shows. my first shows where Gun and Knife shows, I started at 13 years old. For the most part people are very nice. Even the other vendors. One hint is to come early, set up and be ready to make a run to Walmart for whatever you forgot to plan for. It will happen. It is ok. DONT WORK ALONE, the bathroom is the enemy if you are alone, customers can be... well.. you know. It just doesn't work. GUARD your money, and keep it behind the counter and not on your display area. A money apron is sometimes easier. ( LESS SECURE THO) BRING PLENTY OF CHANGE FOR 100's and 20's That seems to be the only denominations people have at shows. Try and price your items to be rounded off with tax included to even numbers. ( 18.47 + tax = 20even) ( or whatever it needs to be ) This way all you need are 20's 10's and 5's for change. Early in the show you seem to get the biggest BILLS so be prepared. AM people HAVE more money it seems. OR atleast BIGGER BILLS. RELAX RELAX. If you plan ahead and even set up your display at home to see how it looks before you get there. Then you can spend your time SELLING AND SELLING pays the BILLS. BRING STUFF TO DRINK and EAT. THERE STUFF SUX AND IS EXPENSIVE ( USUALLY ) DONT SPEND YOUR MONEY SHOPPING AT THE SHOW. You are there to get PAID, not to GET STUFF. I have seen so many people spend more than they made all weekend on SUNDAY. If you have any more questions Please ask
  4. THANK YOU, I am wanting a mostly soy product. I am still trying to find a solution that will work well. It seems I may need to add some type of parafin wax to get the throw that I desire. However I am trying to find a way to get that kind of throw without adding parafin.
  5. THANK YOU SO MUCH. We are completely new to this and my wife just decided that she wanted to try and make this a business. I figure I better ask as much as i can, cause once we get started we can go broke fast. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Again thank you for all your help.
  6. Thank you, I am in Corpus Christi TX, Pretty far south. It is humid but average temp is 75-90 degrees. Are there any additives that you do use, and if i may ask, where do you get the FO's and what works best for you?
  7. I am looking to find an easy soy to work with that will deliver the best throw. I am debating on using Eco Soya CB advanced, however it seems that there may be an issue with the scent throw. Please let me know your thoughts. Also I have heard that Coconut oil can be added and that helps. If so does coconut oil effect the scent? Are there any other additives that might assist? Thank you.
  8. I am completly new to Candle Making. My wife decided that she wanted to make candles and sell them. I have looked around on the internet and found lots of information. The website that seems to be the easiest to use and most complete is PEAKS. We are wanting to make SOY container candles. The wax that I am looking to buy to start this process is Eco-Soya CB advanced. I am wanting to know if this is a good wax..... by that I mean is it easy enough for a complete novice to use and produce a quality worthy of resale. Do I need any additives? If so what kind? Are there any hints that would reduce my learning errors? Is there anything that you would recommend? Any helpful information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for all your input.
