  1. Problem is that when she tells her friends you'll have to contend with them also. I caught her in lie after lie. When I confronted her about it, I haven't heard another word out of her! As for the name calling, she does deserve it. I am glad that Tweek let us know about it. Too late for me. But if it keeps another of my fellow chandlers from being scammed, then it was well worth it!

  2. I need to re-build my website. Long story... . Anywho, I was wondering if you guys could suggest some easy software that I could use to rebuild it. I already have my hosting, but their builder isn't the best nor do they have a template that I am thrilled with. :sad2: I used Site Studio builder thru my previous host, but to buy it is $$$$. :shocked2: And it doesn't really have alot of extras to it. Thanks for any suggestions.

    Take care,

    Beverly S :)

  3. Ok guys and gals,

What are your policies on product returns? Do you ever feel like one customer is trying to take advantage of the situation? frown.gif Or that there is "no pleasing" this customer whatever you do? :P What is the best way to handle someone like this, without possibly hurting your future sales? e.g. Someone bad mouthing your product! Thanks for any replies!

  4. As a CPA, I can personally tell you that you do not want someone that they hire off of the street for tax season only. You want someone that does this year around. We bill only for the time that we spend working on your return or bookkeeping. Also, I always look back at the prior year return to see what deductions that you took to be sure that you didn't forget something. It can happen to the best of us. Also, we mail out "organizers" at the end of the year. These organizers show what was used on the prior year return to help you remember what information to gather. You can fill out the information right on the organizer. Also, it has a list of questions on new tax issues to help determine if there are any new tax breaks that apply to you. Just remember to add up all of your deductions yourself. Don't take it in a bag for them to sort thru. It will cost you alot of money if you do, because they are having to spend extra time adding the stuff up. HTH.

P.S. Of course, this is how my firm handles things. I cannot guarantee that others do the same. Be sure to ask. ;)

  5. I have only been making candles for a couple of years. I don't get to post as often as I would like due to my full time job. As a fairly new candlemaker, I was shocked at the rudeness of a couple of posts to this thread!

Donita, I looked at your candles and thought OMG!!! They are the most beautiful creations that I have ever laid eyes on! I am the type of person that gets more benefit out of a hands on experience or step-by-step tutorial, such as yours. I would gladly pay for one! I don't think that is too much to ask as far as the years that you have spent perfecting your masterpieces. I think that it is generous of you to offer your expertise to us! That, to me, makes you "gem" of a person! Thanks again.;)

  6. I didn't mean that as a criticism. Sorry you took it that way. With my luck, I would have some moron that would be stupid enough not to blow out the flame and sue me. Then, I would be lucky enough to have a judge that would side with the moron. That was my thought behind my post. I certainly didn't mean to offend anyone. That is the bad thing about posting. You can't hear the person's voice to determine whether they are being a smart butt or not. Also, if you worried about offending every person out there, you would type a post that is page long.

  7. I have just started using this wax. I poured my first set of candles at 150 and they were just beautiful. What temp did you pour at? Maybe you poured too hot. We just had a thread on here about pouring too fast or slow; and most people agreed that it didn't make much of a difference. Maybe someone else with a little more experience in this wax will lend a little advice. We have some very knowledgible people on this board! They are great at giving advice.

  8. I know that everyone has a different opinion on what works for them and what doesn't. Don't want to offend anyone, but I hated EZsoy. I tried everything & had a time with the scent throw. Of course, I know you have to let it cure a long time (weeks) on some scents. I am not that patient of a person. I have also used C-3. It has an awesome scent throw and is relatively easy for me to wick. I didn't have to wait but 5 to 7 days on curing. The only problem that I had with it was sink holes around the wick and a tad of frosting. When it comes down to it, I had rather have sink holes than rough looking tops, excessive frosting, & lack of scent throw.

    HTH,

    Beverly S

P.S. I have about 25 pounds of EZSoy to get rid of if anyone is interested.
