  1. Thanks for your replies. It was a piece of cake!
  2. I am mailing some stuff to a lady in Canada. I have my shipping figured out, but do I have to do anything with customs? If anyone can provide some input on this, it will greatly appreciated. Thanks so much, Beverly S
  3. Let us know what they say. I still have several lids left. But if I ever wanted to buy a bigger size, I would have the low down. Thanks, Beverly S
  4. I bought the 1 oz bottles from them. Also, I bought the lids off ebay and got lucky that they fit. HTH http://cgi.ebay.com/Yorker-Dispensing-Caps-20-410-Lot-of-24_W0QQitemZ140019385923QQihZ004QQcategoryZ26420QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item140019385923 Beverly S
  5. Thanks for all the replies. I will try pouring a little cooler and see if I notice any difference. It is just frustrating to have a candle that looks nice for a couple of days and then all of a sudden, to have patches of frost on it. I guess that I need to be like pocha, and just accept that this is the nature of the "beast" (soy). Thanks again. Beverly S
  6. Thanks for the replies. I heat up my jars and pour at 175. Maybe I can get Jason from Golden Brands to jump in on this. Thanks again, Beverly S
  7. Guys and Girls, I currently use GB 464 wax. I like this wax, but however, I am still having some frosting issues. I use EVO colors in it and that does help some. When the candle sets up, it is beautiful. But I may come back 2 to 3 days later to find frosting. I have seen this USA on a few websites. I thought about buying it, but was wondering if anyone else had any luck with it. Also, I was curious as to the difference between it and regular Univ. Additive. Is it the same thing? Or, are they trying to sell it under a different name? I was trying to be sure they weren't trying to "Blow" smoke up our butts. Any input would be appreciated. I did a "search" to be sure there were any previous threads on this subject about the testing of it, but I didn't find anything helpful. Take care, Beverly S
  8. That is why I quit using the P-1. The pillars that I made had a "crackle" look to them. KY Candle Supply has a very nice votive/pillar wax that is smooth looking. Make great votives, pillars, and tarts. It is called KY "All Natural" Votive/Pillar Blend. I am sure there are others out there that work just as good also. HTH Beverly S
  9. This is the link to it: http://www.candleandsoapstuff.com/ I order some stuff from her last December. It was February before I got it from her. She, of course, billed my credit card the day that I placed the order! I never made that mistake again. I noticed that she still has the health issues going on. I sympathize if it is true, but don't keep taking orders when you can fill the ones that you already have! Beverly S
  10. I bought my heat gun at Ace Hardware. It has been a good one. Very sturdy and well made. Has two heat settings. Good luck in finding one! Beverly S
  11. Hey guys and gals, Do you know of a book that I could purchase or a website that is helpful in explaining the use of Meta Tags and Keywords? I don't want to do anything that might hurt my listing in the search engines. I know that if you don't do the keywords just right, that the search engines might think that you're "spamming". TIA! Beverly S
  12. nayarx8, That would be awesome. I'll have to look up the directions and give this a whirl. Sorry I haven't responded back sooner. I have been working out of town this week. Keep up the good work. Thanks, Beverly S
  13. Nayarx8, I would love to see those 2 new ones. I'll have to check out how to do those when my candle room is finished being built. Won't be much longer and I'll be able to start moving in! Beverly S
  14. Those are awesome! I have got to quit looking in this section. I keep finding things that I want to try! Beverly S
  15. Man, their tracking SUCKS! I have mailed stuff and for 5 days it said electronic notification received. Then all of a sudden it says delivered! Oh well, at least I know that I am not the only one having the same problem. Beverly S
  16. Michael, Those are beautiful! First ones? That is awesome for a first attempt. I would love to try something like that, but my hands tend to shake too much. If I carved them, it would look like a drunk was let loose with a knife! Keep up the great work! Beverly S
  17. Thanks for sharing! I'll have to give that a try. Beverly S
  18. Welcome! Like everyone has stated - take advantage of the search button at the top. You'll find tons of wonderful information from a great group of people. Soy is a little more difficult, but I still enjoy it. Take notes and document your testing. Before long, you'll have that perfect candle receipe! Good Luck! Beverly S :whoohoo:
  19. When I used C-3, my biggest problem were sinkholes. I always had to hit it with a heat gun several times to get rid of the buggers! It was something about the wax. I have used other kinds of wax and get a few small places on top. But with C-3, they would look like a crater right around the wick. I tried pouring hot, cool, slower, etc. but nothing would help. Oh well! Beverly S
  20. It is just like Juliette said. I went to BCN's Convention back in May. They showed this to us in a demo on pillars. So I have been trying the same concept in containers. Works pretty good. But of course, what works for one person, might not work for someone else. Beverly S
  21. DAMN Girl!!! I think that I would have crapped down both pant legs! I am so glad that you are okay. Beverly S
