  1. Gorgeous soap that stinks? I used black mica, and it turned out beautiful, but Bert's Amber smells nothing like Amber and more like a musty attic. I've had people tell me it smells like everything from playdough to their grandfather's mothball encrusted sweater. Now if it was ugly but smelled lovely, i would just use it up myself, but what do you do with a pretty soap that just plain stinks?

  2. Maybe she needs that money to feed her family. The person who we are talking about should be glad that momtohaley hasn't done more....I

HOW MUCH OF AN ISSUE WOULD YOU HAVE HAD WITH YOURSELF IF YOU KNEW THAT YOU SCREWED SOMEONE OVER AND NEVER LET THEM KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON???

Perhaps, though for all we know this person could have come down with an illness, death in the family, who knows. It is speculation that this person had ill intent at this point. I just think that this is a matter that needs to be resolved outside of a public forum. Innocent until proven guilty and all that good stuff...

  3. In my opinion it's a wash on those prices; the differences are negligible. Pick whatever jar you like and go with it.

I agree, the difference in price is pennies, go with what you like! FYI if your order is $25 or under at WSP, shipping is only $6.95. Place 2 seperate orders and they are only .47 including shipping. The total for each 48 pieces including lids is $15.95, which leaves you another $9.05 for anything else you may need and the shipping total will cover that as well, bringing the total cost of the jars down even more.

  4. Wow, I'm usually the first to pick Adam apart, but I really don't think the label is that bad at all. For some strange reason I like the contrast of bright color against the black and white. It is way too busy as one big wraparound, but I think it would look good if you used just the center part on the front and then put a round care label on the bottom. If you MUST do an "about the artist", do 2 seperate labels and put it on the backside of the candle (so that you can see more of the candle).

  5. I tried making sugar and salt scrubs using lotion base, and the lotion dissolved the graines. They did not stay 'scrubby' and it was just a liquidy mess. YMMV.

    Darbla

Yes, you cannot effectively add sugar to any base containing water. You can add extra oils to the FBB and add sugar to that, though I still find it to be drying. I have found that when you add enough oil for it to actually feel moisturizing, it is no longer very sudsy :cry2:

  6. I don't see anything unusual with it either, your oils are all light and shouldn't leave a shine. Are you using FO or EO and how much? Try these percentages and see how you like it (based on 32 oz not 31.6). I'm not sure how accurate your scale is, but I would suggest going to the MMS site and use their calculator to convert to grams for better accuracy.

    H20 74% 23.68 oz.

    Hydrovance 1% .32 oz.

    Oils 17.5% 5.6 oz.

    Ewax 5%

    Stearic 2% .64 oz.

    Phenonip .5% .16 oz.

If you get your hands on some dimethicone, use it at 1% and subtract 1% oil. If you get some BTMS, try 3% BTMS and 2% ewax. If using FO, remember to subtract that percentage from somewhere so you are still at 100%. Hope that makes sense!
