  1. She makes AWESOME shampoo and Conditioner bars! Fast shipping and great CS!

    I'm at ScenterSquare.com and SweetTeagans.com

It's nearing time to add fall items along with candles, etc to ScenterSquare...

SweetTeagans is transitioning to products that appeal to kids (and kids at heart).

    The works never ends :)

  2. Try this:

    45% Lard OR Palm

    45% Olive

    10% Coconut

    6% superfat

Start simple. Make small 2-3 lb batches. Change out 1 ingredient with each batch or UP or LOWER 1 ingredient until you find what you like. Then you can start subbing out 1 oil for another depending on what you are desiring.

  3. Soaped the New Black Currant Tea. It does discolor to medium brown. Smells good though.. but I added some shreds from a Currant & acai batch that went south so the scent MAY be from them. Will post again when the cure time is up. I am hoping to soap a few more this weekend.

I would like to try the HB in a salt bar although not sure how that's gonna work!

  4. What I do when making any type of product:

Wash all items needed in hot soapy water.

Then i put them in a sink with hot water & bleach.

    Air dry.

Then I spray each container and lid with 91% alcohol. Put lid on jar or bottle.

Shake vigorously. Pour alcohol out and do it again with the next one.

Set on paper towels upside down and let them air dry.

Once air dried I cap them so they don't get dusty inside until I am ready to use them.

Same goes for any/all utensils I use to make a batch of whatever I am making.

  5. Carrots for beta carotene. Eggs give an almost silky type lather. Buttermilk is high in alpha hydroxys. Not sure what all survives the saponification process, but I LOVE my Buttermilk, Carrot and Egg soap for my face. Makes it feel like a baby's butt..

eta: strawberry puree could probably be used in CP, but I would think it would turn the soap some sort of tan/brown.

  6. I see you already tried to save it and you may have. Another option you would have would be to shred it and add it to an high Olive batch. That way you wouldn't lose the coloring and it would be more moisturizing. If it hasn't turned out after the rebatch, shred it first. Add no color to the new batch. Add 1/2 the amt of FO. You can add up to 1/2 the amount of shreds as the base recipe you are using. So if you are making a fresh 2lb batch, you can add up to 1lb of shreds to it.
