  1. This is neat. I'm a coffee addict so this would be right up my alley. I wonder if the soap smells like coffee even without the FO added?
  2. Thank you both for clarifying this. All these abbreviations! LOL I think that Soaper's have a language of their own!! :rolleyes2 I'm working on it though. The post at the top with the list of abbreviations has helped immensely. I'm going to try this crockpot soap later today. It may not be as pretty, but I want soap I can use and NOT have to wait. I've made 2 batches of CP and it's killing me that I can't use them yet!!!
  3. So CPHP is the same as HP, just means made from the start in a crockpot? That makes sense. I was trying to read the CPHP as cold process hot process and thinking it was a mix of the two.
  4. I want to try making a batch of soap in my crockpot. I feel pretty comfortable with trying the HP method. I keep seeing CPHP though and I don't know if this is the same or a different way, and if different why one over the other? I hope that makes sense.
  5. I made this yesterday (2nd CP patch ever) and it's turned out wonderful. I subbed sunflower oil for the grapeseed which I didn't have, but otherwise followed exactly. It didn't gel for me even though I did insulate well, but I still have pretty hard bars already. I can't wait until I can use it. Thank you for sharing this!
  6. You are so right about carrying the stuff in and out. I do have a place where I can close the door and still have good ventilation. I'll try that next time.
  7. You mentioned making sure there are no pets in the area. I stepped outside to mix the lye because I was concerned that the fumes would be harmful to my birds (cockatiels). Don't know for sure, but I would be crushed if something happened to them.
  8. I'm laughing at you because I made my first batch ever this afternoon and I was pretty apprehensive about using the lye. Actually I've had everything I needed and put it off last night, then again this morning and finally got up the courage this afternoon. I followed every precaution that I have about and I'm still here. And even better, I think I have soap!! (I've peeked......twice.)
