  1. Has anyone tried:

    Beneath the Stars

    Noel

    North Pole

    Jack Frost

    Peppermint Cream

    or

    Nutcracker?

I have them all in my cart & am hoping for some reviews first....

Some of my favorites from WSP are:

    Apples & Acorns

    Apple Cinnamon

Grammy Annie's Kitchen (should just be called Cinnamon...but very strong!)

    Ginger Spice...one of my favorites!

    Orange Cranberry

    Frasier Fir

    Snickerdoodle

    Cinnamon Candies

    Apple Caramel Crunch

    Apple Pie

    Maple Pecan Struesel

    Pumpkin Crunch

    White Tea

    Sage & Cinnamon

    Perfect Pumpkin

  2. Me too...I received a tea light. It was good--but not as good as CS Pumpkin Souffle. Does anyone else have trouble wicking CS Pumpkin Souffle though?  Man O' Man...I do!!! What is my problem? LOL

I LOVE it but I can't for the life of me get it wicked.

  3. Peaks Cranberry Citrus even SOUNDS tart....I will be trying that one the next time I order--thank you!!

Old Glory--I am SO excited! I placed an order with Aztec this morning and Cranberry was one of the free samples I chose!  YIPPEE!

After having read all the reviews on here, I have a sample of BCN Spiced Cranberry, but I have yet to get it in wax. I better get moving on that.

RWV--After reading your post, I ran to my overloaded closet of 1 oz. samples and I believe I have one of those as well.....Lucky me!! Candlemaker's Store sells, or at least they did at one time, a sample pack of "Cranberry" favorites. I was all over that....unfortunately they never made it into wax.

Thank you for the great suggestions!

  4. I'm with you, Daisymae. I tried their oils years ago and found that there were very few I could get to throw in soy, but I also consider myself a Pumpkin fanatic!! 24 different pumpkins...WOW! There just isn't enough time in the day! I must say it is tempting though to order a few...dozen...lol

    Candybee, any must haves?

  5. I am looking for the best dupe of this. Any suggestions? It will be used in body lotions, creams, sprays, shower gels..... I searched but everything I found was rather old that I came across.

If anyone has any laying around, they want to get rid of, I would be interested  :)

  6. I love colonial tin works warmers but I always have to replace the bulbs they send with lower wattage bulbs. I go down to a 25 watt. When I use the 30w bulbs, it sometimes gets to hot up against the metal dish and the paint will bubble up. They've even sent 40w bulbs with some of their warmers before.

You might check out candle warmers.com. I like their warmers too and they use the halogen 25w bulbs, plus they have plate warmers.

    hth

    Thank you Belinda  :)

  7. Thank you, for sharing kimmeroo. Great info.

I have been burning 2 squares of KY Toasted Marshmallow in my warmer for over 11 hours now & they are still going strong. This gives me hope :)  I am with you--I like switching things up throughout the day.  Maybe some Pumpkin in the morning, Fall Festival in the afternoon, & Mulled Cider at night. BUT....yes, some of our customers expect one little cube to burn for days on end....lol...or maybe I THINK they do.....sometimes I think I am my worst critic!

I guess I will continue to test more percentages of these 2 waxes because I do think they are the magic combo for me.

I will also continue to shop for different warmers with lower wattage bulbs.

  8. No helpers....Boo hoo...whine...sniff....LOL

I'm pretty sure several people are satisfied with the 4625/4630 combo, SO after mulling it over some more, I have come up with some things it could be....hoping for input:

1--Is my bulb too hot? 30 watts. Is it just burning the FO fast & furious & that is why I get AWESOME HT for the first 3-4 hours then nothing? If that is the case, I am going to be really bummed! I LOVE the tart warmers they sell at Colonial Tin Works & so do my customers. Does anyone else sell anything similar with that sort of look with a lower wattage bulb? What wattage bulbs does everyone else burn? I didn't realize how clueless I was & must sound right now!!  Oh my goodness....I'm losing it.......LOL

2--4630 has a melt point of 119 degrees and 4625 has a melt point of 142 degrees SO--should I increase the 4625 and make it a 70/30 4625/4630 and try that combo?? Would that help the longevity, possibly?

    Thank you.

  9. OK--I need help...I am REALLY frustrated  *shudder*

I THOUGHT I was on Cloud 9 with this blend, but I am not--PLEASE HELP!!

I used 4625/4630 50/50.  No color. I put it in my presto pot & heated to 175-180, added 8% FO, stirred for 2 min. and poured.  Cured for 7-10 days.

CT & HT was the best I have ever smelled--BUT it only lasted 3-4 hours MAX. No fans, no AC.

I am using a Colonial Tin Works melter with a 30 watt bulb, which is what I sell to my customers.

The FO's I tested so far are FO's that I know are strong throwers in other applications:

    Peaks Red Clove

    AH Gramma's Cupboard

    WSP Perfect Pumpkin

    Peaks Amish Harvest

    Any suggestions....PLEASE???

  10. WSP has a Pumpkin Crunch "Fresh pumpkin blended with orange peel, sweet carrot, ground cinnamon, clove bud, nutmeg and vanilla cream."

    &

Apple Caramel Crunch "A sweet favorite of juicy apple, sweet caramel, a hint of cinnamon and topped with brown sugar."

ICS has Dutch Apple Crunch "This is an awesome combination of our Sweet Creamy Vanilla and our Hot Apple Pie to make one great scent."

    &

Strawberry Crunch "This is another Indiana Candle Supplies original. We have taken our strawberry and combined it with our buttery sugar cookie to make this awesome scent."

So--the question remains.....what exactly is the crunch??

  11. Lorelei, Lebermuth Pumpkin Harvest is my #1 favorite pumpkin--you must try it!  I am getting ready to place another ICS order and order more but before I do, I was checking out this thread on others' favorites....

Has anyone tried their Cinnamon Apple Berry or Pumpkin Spice?

Sugar Cookie Dough sounds yummy....what do you mix it with?

  12. My first test results:

    50/50

    4630/4625

    6% Peaks Sweet Pumpkin Spice

    5 day cure

    CT--not impressed

HT--NOT my favorite pumpkin, by any means, I am smelling too much vanilla for my taste....I would sooner call it Vanilla Pumpkin....BUT--the throw is very good.  I was pleasantly surprised because I usually use more than 6% in tarts & this was a test. I can't speak much for longevity yet. I have had 2 cubes going strong for 3 hours so far....

I have more curing at 8% & will post results.

    (Some of my favorites)

    Perfect Pumpkin (WSP)

    Grandma's Cupboard (AH)

    Market Peaches (WSP)

    Apples & Acorns (WSP)

CT--Excellent in all of them with 1 day cure

Anyone else care to share your testing results? Should I bump up the 4625? Switch to 70/30 blend, maybe? Has anyone had better luck with this?

  13. Great names Candybee! You are so good at that! Decisions, decisions...I like them all! I am torn between "Yella Dawg Punch" & "Live, Laugh, Lime"...I also LOVE "Starlit Barn" but I think I will put that in my back pocket for later use :)

Jcandleattic, I am glad it is working in soap for you. I bet it will be a great seller!

  14. Has anyone tried this yet? Awesome citrus scent! My testers love it in tarts but I am not having any luck getting it to throw in a candle yet. I am hoping someone can help me rename it for a Country/Primitive line....I'm not sure it's a keeper yet, until I get it to throw but one of my friend's is pretty persistent that I keep trying!  :)

    Here's Aztec's description:

A vibrant citrus medley of exotic blood lime with tangerine, Mandarin orange, honeydew melon and ripe tamarind.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

  15. I also just started testing this combo. Do most people stick to the 50/50 4630/4625 or do you find that bumping up the paraffin will give you a better HT?  Also, do you find that 1 oz. FO is enough or do you you more?

Thank you for any suggestions  :)

  16. Thanks for sharing  :)

It can be very frustrating, but if it was easy, everyone would would be doing it, right?  Maybe that's why I enjoy it so much!  I am just so grateful we have this AWESOME forum to pick each other's brains & share each other's skills/notes/trials & errors .....much appreciated :)
