well,.. its still in the oven... i just took it out to look at it...
it didnt gel at all
-
what did I do wrong? I followed the instructions
I think my soap mold,.. warped,..
wood mold, first time I ever used it too :-(
Not happy at all right now
-
I think my soap is going to be a flop...
it doesnt look"gelled" at all..
it is very light all over and not hard at all..its kinda spongy. I touched it and it made an indent
plus, the saran wrap melted :-( Now I turned the oven off (its been 2 hours) and put freezer paper over it since the saran wrap is toast
-
ohh yeah,.. great idea...
i'll do that next time :-)
-
I just put my first ever batch of homemade soap (CPOP) in the oven :-)
it was a little crazy,..
when i poured the lye, it went on the counter it just kinda flew out the container when I poured! I cleaned it really well though.. so hopefully it will be okay :-)
When i went to line the mold, the stupid freezer paper wouldnt go down in there because the mold is narrow (2.5 lb wooden slab) and we had to cut the freezer paper into pieces!
Its in the oven now though and Im really eager to see how it turns out.
it isnt colored because Brambleberry still has not shipped the color I ordered early early wednesday morning (not happy at all about that)
it is scented cucumber melon though, so at least it will smell nice!

the only drugstore we have in town is really small...
our town has like 1400 people so there really isnt much around :-(
-
yeah,.. i havent found lye in my area yet.. still looking :-(
As far as the color goes,.. I have no idea what im looking for?
I know there are oxides and micas and even liquid and then there are the clays but I have no idea what the difference is between all of them so I have no idea what to look for :-(
-
I'm about to say forget it as far as color goes,..
you would think there would be somewhere that would sell lye and color.. since you need them both to make soap?
Everywhere I go, the colors are so expensive and I have no clue what I am supposed to be looking for :-(
-
Yeah, I want to get the lye locally but I cant find it anywhere.
*grumbles at Wal-mart*
-
ohh,.. when do you add the color/clay?
I really want to try a green swirl scented cucumber melon for my first attempt but I know thats pretty ambitious for my first try
Is there a place where i can buy both lye and colorants?
It would be nice to have natural ones, but if i cant get those, I will settle for something else :-)
Also, where is this "pigment lady"?
-
What do i need to get to color CP or CPOP.
I have no idea what to look for or where I can get it. I have everything I need to make my first batch of soap except for color and Lye :-)
It should be fun!
-
Wow,.. those all look excellent and I love those little half boxes... did you make those yourself or did you buy them somewhere?

As soon as my soap supplies get here and I can find lye (I couldnt find it at our local wal-mart) I am going to try this :-)
I have never even made soap before other than M&P so this should be interesting :-)

its not that hard,.. you can push it and make an ident.. so thats not good..
