Don't waste the good EVOO on soap! I use the cheapest I can find and it works out great.

"Flavor oils" don't actually flavor. They are a lip-safe fragrance oil. It has been noted in many places that if you sweeten a lip balm, folks will tend to lick their lips more which erodes the lip balm, thereby defeating the purpose of the balm. I prefer my lip balm unsweetened but do like the fragrance aspect of the "flavor" oil. You're simply fooling the taste buds through your nose.

Wow. Those are beautiful. I must get back into soaping. I must.

O. K. Still not an association I would want. Spark(y). Candle. Hmmmm.
-
They look like address labels stuck on the jar. Not very professional looking.
-
I'm not sure I want a candle labeled 'sparky.' Too much inference, if ya know what I mean.

Dry oil with cyclo fer sher.

Wow, what a great space! And I love the purses. I can PM you my address if you need someone to quality test them . . .
-
I don't believe I'd put a colorant in a body spray for fear it would get on one's clothes.

Along with what others have said about testing, I would like to suggest working on different labels. Packaging is something that draws people to your product and a professional looking label can make or break you. I have had people buy my stuff just because they love the packaging and then later told me it was an added bonus that it was a great product. You have to consider that the candle essentially becomes part of your home decor and in my opinion, the whole package needs to look nice. A return address label randomly stuck on different areas of the container just seems tacky to me. I don't care how good the candle burns or smells, getting that label off the jar would be the first thing I would do if I bought it. You never get a second chance to make a first impression
I totally concur.

I am reading a lot on here and still have a lot more experimenting to go. Yes I have insurance. Now I just need to find some good bath and body suppliers. Anyone have some good ones to recommend?
So start researching what you want to make on here and you will find recommendations all over the place. Isn't there a place or thread or something somewhere on CT that lists suppliers, etc?

And then there is the preservative that must be in the lotion. Do some research on what is the appropriate preservative and the appropriate percentage for your ingredient ratios.
-
My biggest caution about making lotion is that you MUST be sure your work area and all vessels, utensils and containers are as clean as possible. Rinse everything with bleach including your work station. This is an absolute MUST. I even wear rubber gloves to avoid contaminating already-cleansed areas and utensils.

Just saw these today and all I can say is WOW. Good job!

Why, thank you Sliver, I'll have to move my entire operation out to the street now.

If you use a digital scale, having a computer nearby can throw off the accuracy.
I did not know that.

Millcreek has a sweet Monkey Farts. Bananas and such.

Why in the world would you buy an entire pound of an FO without testing a sample first? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Yes, buying samples can get a little pricey from time to time but it's a whole lot cheaper than buying a pound and then discovering you don't like the throw. Geez, it could be you're using the wrong wax.

Is this what you're looking for? I simply Googled 'mini lip balm push up container' and this was amongst the results:

Sorry, but that is a completely STUPID idea! And as others have said, don't give the government anymore ideas for gods' sakes! What exactly are you thinking anyway? If that is your idea of "knocking down" your local competition then you might be the one who needs regulating actually! If you are so concerned about your local competition beating you out in sales that you would like to see the government 'help' you to knock them down, you really need a new hobby, candles just aren't for you! And now that your bright idea has 4 pages worth of replies, where are you??

I especially love lotion bars in the winter when skin is dry from indoor heat.
