  1. I tried a search and didn't come up with anything. I am having troubles with my wicks shifting while burning. It's not the actual wick, but the tip of it. They are perfectly centered when I glue them down, but mid-burn it seems that they always pull closer together and move from the center. Is there something that I am or that I'm not doing that could be causing this?

  2. I am writing this for a friend of mine who ordered some clamshells from a wholesaler. She said that only the darker colored clamshells seem to be "leaking" and you can smell the oil leaking out of the tart. Apparently it looks like it may be melting the plastic. What could be causing this? My first thought was too much FO, but I don't make tarts, so I'm not sure what the cause is. They aren't sure what type of wax it is, they just know that it is starting to leak FO and is really strong, as if the tart is already being warmed. Thanks :)

  3. I am having some troubles getting any hot throw in my candles. I can't figure out if it's my wax or maybe I am not letting them cure long enough? I am using FO from Peaks. I know it works well with this wax because the woman who I used to buy my candles from (and who taught me how to make them) used the same wax and FO, so I know it throws. She uses more than the recommended amount of FO per pound and I wonder if that's what it is. I use 1.5 oz and she used 2.5 oz. (Nu-Scents recommends 1.5 oz). I let the candles cure for two days (I'm a bit anxious :) and am using CSN wicks from Candle Science. Does anyone have any idea as to why I cannot get a good hot throw? It seems to work ok in small rooms but will not fill up my living room like the candles of hers that I have burned. I'm puzzled and really frustrated!

  4. I have been getting those stupid air pockets in every jar candle I make, regardless or how/what temperature I pour at. I have also poked relief holes and just zapped the top with a heat gun, which I know takes away from the crystal-look to the wax. However, when I use the heat gun, I still have to poke relief holes 2 more times in order to fill the holes. By doing a re-pour instead of using the heat gun, will this require any more than one re-pour and poking relief holes? Or does it usually just require the one time and the air pockets are gone and do not come back? Also, when doing the re-pour, do I add more FO and dye? Thanks!
