  1. does this shimmer? (possibly not the right word)

I have bought 2 different types of pressed/powder bronzers and both made me "sparkly", which I do NOT want. I would love to find something that just gives me a little more color without the glittery/shimmery/sparkly feel/look.

soapmom, I just formulated a bronzer with a more matte base, testing it on myself, it just seems to add color with minimal sparks/shimmer to it. I went outside and looked at it, I see no sparkle in it at all on my face or hand.

I took a picture of it, but the light is catching the mica in it so it looks sparkly in the photo. I did get it a little too dark, so I need to lighten it up a bit. It's more on the Brown side. But hopefully this will give you an idea.

  2. I love your Forbidden Apple blush, it looks like a lovely shade! Could that possibly be made with a subtle gold shimmer? I've got a strong yellow undertone in my skin, so gold looks good on me :)

Also love the Emerald Sea eyeshadow!

Oh, I found a small typo while I was looking through the blushes:

"Use our blush as and Eye shadow..."

Oh thank you very much, I'll go fix it right now.

Yes I could add some gold shimmer to the Forbidden Apple, thank you for your comments!

Yes it does have some shimmer, but I can formulate one that doesn't.

    I'll work on that!

  4. Vio saved the day! You are at the top of my coolest persons list, and you didn't even do this for me. It is so rare for someone to go to that much trouble to help someone else, just for the sake of being nice. I hope Santa is very good to you!

    Darbla

    I totally agree!!!!! :D

  5. Can I volunteer to be a tester??!!:yay:

I've never seen or heard of mineral makeup before. Is this something you make entirely yourself? The colors are fabulous! I don't like wearing liquid foundation 'cause it just makes me more oily. Powders do nothing. But from what everyone on here says, this stuff sounds pretty good. I'd love to try it!

ETA: What an idiot I am! I just noticed the date of the original post! August!!! Just ignore me, I'll go to your website and order.

Yes everything is made from scratch by me. I hadn't used it either until I started creating my formulas and tried it and I love it, won't ever go back to liquid or the paste and sponge lol.

  6. WOW! I checked out your site and I'm very impressed! How does your foundation hold up in high humidity?

Well I live on the southern coast of Texas right on the water......... talk about humidity!!

I tested this makeup leaving it on my face for three days and nights, cleaning house, cooking etc and sweat to death, using a paper towel to dry my face and this make up stayed on for the three days. We went out of town to visit my brother and family and while his wife and I were talking, she makes a comment about how nice my makeup looked. :laugh2: I said what? I've had this on for three days :shocked2: and slept in it for two nights. She couldn't get over it, that it still looked so good.

On the fourth day, I just had to wash my face :o My friend Moonrose from here, also left it on three days and also went swimming in it, so I think it holds up very well!

  7. I was going to ask if you put Bismuth in your make-up, but you already answered that...

and its fantastic that you don't (nothing worse then putting a form of arsinic on your skin *oy*)...

Bareminerals uses Bismuth...and charges an arm and a leg

Prescription Formula makes my face feel greasy.

    Do you have a website?

I've been searching high and low for a mineral make up that feels good on my skin.

Hi Monique, after reading about the Bismuth I decided not to use that in any of my products.

Yes I do have a website, thank for asking. I don't know if I can put it out here or not, but it is in my profile.

  8. Ladies, I gotta tell ya--Chickie's got it going on with her makeup. I feel qualified to comment on the quality of her products as I have been using Bare Minerals for over a decade. I've also tried some of the others that have recently come on the market during the past couple of years and have been disappointed.

I got some of Chickie's foundation and blush this week and wore it to work yesterday. It went on so effortlessly and light that I did wonder about how well it would hold up for me. Well, I didn't need to be concerned--it's great makeup. I got the beige foundation and Rose of Sharon blush, which works for my blonde complexion. She also sent me a sample of the mineral veil that gives a nice finishing touch.

Congratulations, Chickie on developing a top-quality mineral makeup! :highfive:

Thank you Luci :o, I value your opinion very much and especially since you have used Bare Minerals for so long, I agree that you are qualified to comment on my product.

I do want the truth, the good, bad and ugly. I want to make a high quality product at reasonable prices for us women.

The weird thing Luci, a week or so ago I was beginning to wonder if I should even continue to do the Makeup, thinking maybe this wasn't what the Lord wanted me to do and a day or two later you and Breanna made orders for Makeup (and another order) and then I had gotten a private message from someone on another forum that they were so blessed from my website and the about me part. Well, after all that I have to believe that I am doing what I'm supposed to do.

So thank you so much for your order, your Review and your kind words!

  9. I've made body sprays and it goes on beautifully! I use the 4 oz Aluminum bottles and 1 oz purse size spray bottle. Sorry can't help on the room sprays. I think you have to make one and test it on an inconspicuous (sp?) spot. I think if I were doing the room sprays, I'd do a larger than 4 oz bottle, but that's me. Good luck!
