  1. They are actually the vitaburst beads that I will be using, the ones with Vit A, C and E in them. For some reason I just automatically typed in jojoba beads:shocked2: . I was thinking of the clear suspension so you can see the beads throughout the bar soap and the suspension I see only comes in clear. I want the beads throughout the bar and not floating on the top like when you make an oatmeal scrubby. I think I'm gonna do a little of experimenting and then try it out on me to see what happens as I have just normal skin..not too oily, not too dry. Thanks for all the replies Angi The Soap Box Oh I also found Sea Kelp Granules and it is listed as excellent for the face so I am thinking of getting those too, they are pretty inexpensive.
  2. I was thinking the same thing when I saw it . I may just go ahead and order some to try it out. Angi The Soap Box
  3. I was looking at mp soap bases and thought that the clear suspension base would be good with jojoba beads added in and a light scent. Would this type of base make a decent face soap? Angi The Soap Box
  4. This is for anyone that uses the 8ml sprayer bottles. Could someone tell me the measurements for a label for these? I haven't gotten my order in yet for me to measure, maybe someone that already has these little sprayers could tell what the measurements are? I am working on getting a quote from Lightning Labels for these. Thanks bunches!! Angi The Soap Box
  5. My first and definitely last experience with CP soap found me mixing my lye and water in an ALUMINUM candle pour pitcher! At the time I had no clue that you couldn't use aluminum. My husband informed me I had a volcano in the kitchen and the family had to flee the house for a couple of hours cause the smoke and fumes about killed us ROFL! Then my husband decided to inform me I couldn't use aluminum with lye, thanks for telling me after! I have never tried CP since rofl!| Angi The Soap Box
  6. Thanks for all the replies ! Angi The Soap Box
  7. If I use the following recipe, what percentage sea salt would I add? Coconut Oil - 75% Shea Butter - 25% Is it equal to only the oil, or is it equal to the entire recipe? Angi The Soap Box
  8. I really love your last soap, the red currant and thyme! Absolutely gorgeous. Where did you purchase the Mr. Do Right Mold? That is the white one in the picture right? Angi
  9. I am looking at their site and really love the stuff they have to offer but I have one question for those that have used their bases...can you add different butters to their bases? Thanks! Angi
  10. I like this label even more than the others. The design of it and it's colors. Angi
  11. It was a fairly recent People's Court and the reason he lost is because when you take your case out of your State like this guy did then the Federal law trumped the State Law so he lost. So, you may win in your state because of the state laws but if the defendant wants to take it higher, then the Federal law will take effect which is where it says that you need to have your stuff registered if you are going to file suit. 12. Does anyone have a label template for lip balm tubes? The normal sized lip balm tubes I am talking about. I am trying to find a template where I don't have to do any cutting down to the label and was wondering if anyone already has one they would be willing to share? I am also looking for one for the 8ml sprayer bottles if anyone has a template for that one as well. My cutting tends to be horrible when I have to cut lables rofl! Or, if anyone has a certain label size and brand they have found works perfectly that I could find at one of the office stores that is what I am really after . Angi The Soap Box
  13. I like the first one. I like fun looking lables like these..want to design mine? Angi
  14. Just a bit of input on this. This was discussed in another forum I frequent. You can say that yes your work is copyrighted which normally deters people from stealing, however, if you do not actually have the copyright paperwork for each piece of art then no, it is not legally copyrighted. I actually saw a case on the People's Court about this. A gentleman was sueing another gentleman because the Defendant was using the Plaintiff's photos that he had showcased online. Well, the Plaintiff did NOT have any copyright paperwork on any of the photos so he lost the case. The judge stated that Federal law trumps State law and the Federal law says in order to sue someone over using your artwork you better have each and every piece of your artwork copyrighted and have your paperwork or you will lose your case. Here is some info. and the link to the US copyright office: http://www.copyright.gov/help/faq/faq-general.html#protect When is my work protected? Your work is under copyright protection the moment it is created and fixed in a tangible form that it is perceptible either directly or with the aid of a machine or device. Do I have to register with your office to be protected? No. In general, registration is voluntary. Copyright exists from the moment the work is created. You will have to register, however, if you wish to bring a lawsuit for infringement of a U.S. work. See Circular 1, Copyright Basics, section “Copyright Registration.” Note where it says that your copyright does exist from the moment the work is created HOWEVER, if you wish to bring a lawsuit for infringement you will have to register your artwork and just a note, it needs to be registered prior to you bringing the lawsuit. It's a tough subject but the Plaintiff did lose his case. Judge Milian told him that if he is posting his photos, artwork, what have you on the internet without any of his work actually registered for copyright (and she said it has to be each and every piece, not just a blanket copyright) then he is basically putting his work out there for anyone and everyone to use at free will as he has no legal basis to sue for infringement with no registered copyrights in his hand. So it is a matter or morals really. I doubt that many artists out there have everything they have created registered just because of the cost of it, but it is indeed their work and the moral thing would be to either ask if you can use it or simply not use it. Now you may come across those few people that will use it but usually a simple cease and desist will deter them from using it anymore, unless you get that one who is savvy on the law and will use it until you bring a lawsuit. 15. Well, I know it's hard to pick just one scent rofl . However, I am limited right now to what I can purchase and wanted to start with just one scent on the bars, but omg, yall's choices are making me think I need more than one LOL! Angi The Soap Box
  16. What does AGE stand for? I know someone said there was a place that explains what the initials stand for but I can't find it. I would like to read up on what that scent smells like Angi The Soap Box
  17. Oh my attempt was just awful and quite funny. I did not know about the "do not use aluminum with lye" bit and I decided to mix my lye and water in a candle pour pitcher! Well, my husband said ..UH, you have a volcano going off in the sink!! We had to air the house out for awhile to get the smell and smoke out rofl. Well when I switched to glass the mixture did great but the soap did not come out as soap, just a big wet gloppy mess (after sitting for about a week) so that is when I decided it just wasn't for me lol! Angi
  18. Well, since I have grasped what a salt bar is and how to make one (hopefully it works with the CPHP) I am going to use only one scent for it right now. So, What scent would you guys choose if you could only offer one for a soap or salt bar? Thanks in advance for your input Angi The Soap Box
  19. Thanks! That does help alot. So you match the amount of salt to the amount of oils you use? And I could just use the Sea Salt that you can find in the grocery store? I think I am going to try it using the CPHP to see if it will work Angi The Soap Box
  20. I have never in my life ever heard of these or seen these until I joined this board and seen a few on some websites. Now I have done about as thorough of a check as possible..I ran a search, I read every post on this new board and every post on the old board and could not find an answer to my question on these so I am going ahead and asking away. What is the recipe for this bar and can it be used with HP soap? I am going to attempt HP since I am not very CP friendly and was wondering if I can do this bar with an HP recipe or not. Thanks for your input!! (I am going to do the Crockpot Method of HP if that makes any difference) Angi The Soap Box
  21. Well it took me close to 2 days of searching for these bottles but I finally found them . I was just thinking it may have been easier for those that actually use them to just post where they came from. It took awhile to find em cause I was looking for a domestic source and I kept finding overseas sources and I couldn't read the language lol! And I did search all through this board and archives but nothing on those little 8ml sprayers so I went on and started using the different search engines til I found em. Thanks for the welcome Angi
  22. Hi everyone! I am new to the board! I just found it earlier today and have been reading like a mad woman...tons of wonderful information. I have been playing around with soaps and b&b products for about 8 years now. I always stick with mp soap but the hp crockpot soap is tempting me to try it out. I tried cp soap once and it was such a disaster I never tried again rofl! I do have a question. I have visited some of you guys' websites and I have seen these petite sample sprayer bottles that I absolutely love. I would love to know where to get this bottle if it's not a trade secret Thanks all and nice meeting you! Angi The Soap Box
