Hello, I've been making candles for 3years and this is the first time that I have struggled on my wax! I wish the suppliers would be more honest with there supplies. I am in Texas and looking for a good supplier for wax.

  1. I have been making wax candles for a long time. I started making gels about 3 years ago but I have always heard scary stories about burning them. So what I have been doing is using a "fish bowl" with a glass votive in the center. I would just like so more information, thank you.
  2. Hello, I've been doing candles for about three years and for the first time ever I am comfused. I found a new supplier and he has came up with this new wax called 5468. He gave me a sample and it was the best wax, but when I ordered a case, I had big problems. This wax is a container wax(one pour and a "soft wax") I melted it just like I was told to, heated me jars up, and every candles was shrinking and once it was set was very hard. So hard that I was able to make a mold. When I told the supplier of this, I was told that harder the wax longer the burn. It that true?so confused. can someone please help me?
  3. I love to do the whip look! It's a good workout for your arms and you get a great look. This is how I do it. I use a hard wax that I buy from Hobby Lobby and add 1oz of any soft wax that you may have. I melt it like usual and add dye (if you want) then the FO. once you've done that, pour into a metal bowl. I use a wisk and just whip it. This takes awhile, if you want to speed up the process, place some ice in other bowl and place the metal one on top. Make sure to also scrap the sides so you don't lose any wax. Once the wax starts to thick it, either use a big spoon or just slowly scrap it out of the bowl. This is how I do it. I hope it works for you
  4. I'm sure this is not what your looking for but you can try it. Pour container wax in a metal bowl (make sure you add your dye and scent before you pour into the bowl) and use a wisk and whip it. It's hard an your arms but just keep going until it starts to look like whip cream. Use a small melon ball scooper and scoop it. It won't be smooth but you can try it.
