I'm restarting my candles business. I had a pretty successful business but was displaced by Hurricane Katrina.

My husband and I are finally settled, and I'm looking to get back into the swing of things. I'm 26 y/o and i've been married for 7yrs.

  1. lol... thanks ladies! I think i'll just buy one JUST for soap One more question...Where can you buy lye? Do they sell it in Wal-mart? lol
  2. Hi! I was reading the Tutorial for the hot-process of soap making, and I see that the lady used a crockpot. My question is.. Once the crock-pot is used for making soap, does it now become "THE SOAP POT"? LOL It may be a silly question, but I wanted to know if I should go out and buy a cheapo crock pot for this. This will be my 1st time attempting hot process, so any other helpful tips/hints you have will be so GREATLY appreciated!
  3. I followed the instructions in Tutorial Thread on this board!
  4. Thx for the compliments BIG Thank You's for the Tips :yay: I'm saving those instructions.
  5. Those are sooo pretty.. Very calming colors
  6. NattyCat, Where would one find insurance policies for candles? Can you post a few links?
  7. Hi, My friend is getting married in July and she asked me today if I would make the wedding favors for her bridesmaids and maybe some of the table decorations for the reception! I'm so excited I kinda already have a few ideas, but would love it if you all could share some of your ideas. She has 11 bridesmaids. We're not sure of how many tables @ the reception yet. Her wedding colors are White, Black, and Red.
  8. Anyone have any good links for reputable companies that customize metal stamps?
  9. Thanks Ladies, I hope she likes it. @Ginger ~ One can never have too many mommies @Ladysj ~ Thank a bunch, I kept wondering if I should've used a different color for the bow @ Wick 'n' Wax ~I'm glad you like it. I thought of using tulle netting, but the cellophane's shine won me over. lol
  10. This is the 1st thing I've made since I started my hobby back up again. The pink votives are strawberry, purple are vanilla, and the yellow are Mango Papaya. I chose the colors using the tissue. This is my 1st time sharing, be kind. lol
  11. definitely wouldn't have known there was a mistake if you hadn't said anything. Great work
