  1. We understand that every mold is tested for leaks that is why they are the #1 mold supplier in the USA, and I guess thay are the reason other mold makers are going away:p

We also understand that Don's Co. has been making molds for many years and his turn around is quick :cool2:

  2. Rebecca....that is Don's company. He is the one that makes the molds for Yaley. They are great quality. Donita Louise

  3. I purchased my wick pins from wholesale supplies plus out of Cleveland Ohio.

I seem to have two issues and just wanted to know how everyone else's experiences shake out...

    1. The base of the wick pins are much more concave than I would like. I use flat round wick tabs and just don't need that much clearance; and,

    2. The base circumference of my wick pins are just a hair or two smaller than the base of my votive cup and therefore, wax seeps underneath and when I remove the votive and then the pin, then more times than not a piece of the bottom rim will snap off when I remove the wick pin...

Thoughts? Does anyone make 'flat' wick pins and if not, why? Does it cause removal issues? Does everyone's wick pins have that much 'play' in the base of the votive mold (metal)?

    TIA

Yes they do have flat bottons on another wick pin made on the West Coast, and they work great

  4. Well.....Mr. Reddig made them......maybe he passed on his formula.

It has been said that the dia/chips were made in Washington, but what we were told by some they were first made by Pete R. up in Portland OR. and when he sold the business someone in CA. bought the business. and has the molds and the correct formulia from Pete R.

So who knows the truth it seems that the stories are flying around about stuff.

    :D

  5. I call BS on the "moving" -- if you're moving you don't have your phone disconnected, and you certainly don't keep it a secret on your site -- especially if you aren't processing orders.

    My uneducated guess?

Mike was pretty young. I have to think that he, along with his family must have had a bit of money -- bought Pourette, Barker, etal. Once his father died, there is much more money -- so he just walked away. And judging by the lack of "nice" they had when you ordered, I would guess they didn't exactly like working the place...

so in the end... that is my totally uneducated guess.

The seattle person just reported that the sign on there window says "CLOSED" and another sign says "MOVING". with no phone number or address.

And from what everyone is saying RIP to this company of 40 plus years.

    Enough said

  6. From what we have been told, the Seattle source said that the salvadge crew did not have any answers on who, what, were, or when. and the owner was no were to be seen. plus the inside of building looked like a mess. But there was some stuff left but not much. and it was just thrown around on the floor.

it is a shame that a company who has it's roots in a family run business that has been around for almost 50 years has an effect on so many. "Where are the Olsons"
