  1. We had a guy in San Diego stiff us for big bucks and he was turned over to collection, but that didn’t get anywhere.

The funny thing about it he is still in business buying stuff from others.

To bad there is not a place to post DEADBEAT CUSTOMERS to let all know about D.B

    :angry2: :angry2: :angry2: :angry2: :angry2:

  2. carpeting from spilled paraffin wax?

My daughter just called me with this question and I don't have a clue so I thought I'd ask the experts! She said it was a pink candle (the dog knocked over) and that she did get all of the wax out but it left a yellow stain in several spots. Any suggestions?

    Thank you in advance~

Try natures orange, it is a citrus cleaner, that even took a red melted candle out on beige carpet, we got our at home depot.

  3. Along those same lines...

Where can I purchase candle finishing products like theirs?

Like the rub on luster wax or metalic rub on wax

    Description:

Get creative and decorate your candles. This rub on paint is simple to use and helps give dimension and depth to your candle creations. Colors include walnut, sky blue, rosewood, silver blue, iris, cameo pink, golden white.

    And the candle dipping glaze

    Description:

The very highest quality available! This glaze dries hard, fast, smudge-proof and clear without bubbles! Helps keep candles fingerprint and dust free! Makes candles damage resistent and provides a polished quality surface look

We found out by accident that the dipping glaze was from Barkers Candle Supply and Pourette bought their stuff when BCS went under and one of BCS workers sent us some just before the deal went through and told us if we needed more just use Johnson's Mop and Glow with a little Denatured alcohol to help wih the drying and guess what it works just as good as the stuff from PCS and it's cheaper:grin2:

  4. Does anyone know where to get a mold for these? I've been looking for days with no luck.

Here is what it looks like http://www.genwax.com/candles/___0___8509.htm

If not this specific mold, maybe just a 3" x 9" fluted pillar mold.

    Thanks in advance.

Try North Valley Candle Molds or one of their Dist. CandleScience in the East and Let it shine in the NW and maybe Serria Candle in AZ. There are others maybe Candles and Supplys in PA.

NVCM is the North American largest mold Manuf. they were even bigger than Pourette (who) for many years.

  5. I would say they are done. There is nothing, except for the plastic two-piece molds that they had that couldn't be gotten elsewhere.

Sad really, they could have been huge. When the economy turns to crap (as it is, and will get worse) -- candle making gets more and more popular -- it is just the cyclical nature of our business (or hobby)...

    Oh well...

    Double "Oh Well"

  6. I hope this is the right place to post this. If not please bear with me :)

I am looking for a good place to purchase wax for containers. There are several suppliers listed and I'd really like to know anyones thoughts on the best suppliers.

    Thanks!!

What section of the country are you in??:yay:

  7. I have been searching numerous candle supplies sites looking for metal pillar ball molds. Any site that I have looked at that and had the ball molds they were plastic. I was at one of my suppliers today and bought one of the plastic molds, I know that it work well, but want metal molds so you can get a rustic look to the candles. I know that I have seen them on one of the supply sites before, but cannot find it and have become frustrated by doing so much searching.

    TIA

    Pam F

    letitshineusa.com has them but i don't know what size:highfive:

  8. Exactly, ruby red.. candlewic's was plain red and luckily I have a liquid black dye so I made my own ruby red.

When I checked candlechem's site for their colors they didn't have what I needed.

I'm talking about three months ago, don't know now.

    Thanks for the help

There other suppliers who sell French color block's as well of the NEW diamond chips one in the east is candlesicense in the west it is Let it Shine.:grin2:

  9. Where can one buy candle supplies such as wick trimmers etc. directly from the manufacturer? Maybe there aren't any that do that and one would have to rely on the wholesalers instead?

    Mike

This is a good question, we found that over the years you have to buy such large amounts of "things" from manufacturer's to get in the door with them, and most are very loyal to their W/S and most have agreements with them.

Then if you can get your foot in the door do you realy want to have all that product sitting around? after all it's your money that bought the products that are just sitting there.

    :tiptoe:

  10. Your research should have pointed out that we strongly suggest not using them. You have to use too much to get much color and they are proned to clogging wick, but you're free to try it out for yourself to see ;)

This is very intresting question "crayons" back in the early 60's we tried them, this was before chips and we were cheap or something. Then we went to power (messy) but good, than we had our own recipe over the years, like all pro-candle makers we have the basics for the entry-level C/M that we do share, from the countless question you get.

    :highfive:

  11. I dug up some slabs of wax I had from six months ago. 6006 & GL70/30, and they both have spots of mold on them! They were stored in a cool, dry, dark closet. I don't understand, is this normal?

We have been using IGI 6006 for years and before that it was BP 5766 and have never had mold on it. But sometimes there was little rust flakes on it.

But no mold thats a new one, what did your supplier do or say?;)
