  1. I was thinking of using these cute 2 oz status jars from CS. I am using 6006 wax No color just scent. I was thinking of starting with a 36-24 zinc wick. Do you think that wick would be a good starting point the jar is 2 3/4 inches high and 1 3/4 inches around. I just love the look of this cute tiny jar. Instead of using tins for weddings you could use these for a more elegant look.

  2. I used to buy carnation FO from JS but I see they no longer have it on there site :angry2:Damn that was a good seller for me. So now I need to know who has a good carnation fo I know NG has one But I have never tried it. Some help here please

  3. Have no idea how the 2 mixed together would be but BCN hayride would give you the hay scent (I use this for a couple "horsey" blends and CS cedar wood vanilla would be a good match to old barn- that's what I get out of it anyway and maybe the vanilla mixed in there would give it a historic "homey" feel

I think this would work also

  4. Ok so I used 6006 wax NG Clean cotton no dye and a 36z wick I used 1oz per pound Been burning it for 6 hours So far it is burning great. The tin is a little warm but nothing to worrie about I can touch it and hold it without getting burned. My kitchen smells wonderful I can even smell it in my living room. Looks like so far the 36z is working wonderful. If it burns to the end without any trouble I will be using the 36z for these tins YAY success at last. :yay::yay::yay:

  5. I know this thread is a bit old, but I wanted to pass along something I recently discovered. Last fall, I was making some votives and tarts over a couple week period with Ecosoya PB, and everything was fine. No problems. I then cleaned out my melting pot and went back to pouring container candles through Christmas. After Christmas, I needed to restock on tarts, so I melted a fresh batch of PB wax and went to work. Funny enough, there were the problems described above the next day -- cracking, not good appearance, etc. I then made another batch, with no problems. It occurred to me that in both the fall and now, I melted down some PB, then it cooled back to solid overnight, and then I melted it again before using it to make tarts. When I remelted and repoured the messed up tarts, they were fine.

It is possible that PB might need to be "tempered" before using it. I now don't go straight from the box to melting and pouring; but instead, melt a pot down one day (no FO or dye), let it cool to solid overnight, and then remelt it, draw off what I need, add FO and dye, then pour. My votives and tarts are all much better, and I have noticed fewer problems with the votives having air pockets.

    Just a thought.

Since I have been tempering my PB I haven't had any more trouble with it. I find that tempering it does help with some of the problems
  6. I came up with a really neat idea for making some new and different tarts. My question is I want to use sprinkles the sugar ones Is it ok to use on tarts? I've seen people use sprinkles on there melts But I was not sure If they were the sugar kind or ones made for wax.
