  1. Hi. I'm getting my first shipment of soy wax in this week. I was just wondering what the approximate burn time is for these soy candles. I've been reading that they have a longer burn time than paraffin. I'm wondering about tealights, votives, 16 ounce containers and 20 oz. pillars. I know I have to test them and I am obviously going to do that- but I was just curious to see what your candles are burning at. I'm very anxious to get this order in and get started!! Thanks for any input!
  2. Hi- I just ordered some yesterday from candlesandsupplies.com. I bought a package of 100 for 4.99 they also have larger sizes for slightly more.
  3. Thanks Amy- I'll check it out...it might just be worth the trip! any other suggestions are warmly welcomed!
  4. Hi everyone!!! Do any of you know where I can get soy wax in the new jersey/new york area? I'm spending just as much on shipping (if not more) than I am on my supplies. I'm really trying to keep costs down right now- especially since my darling husband is being so very patient with my "candle mess" all over the apartment. It always helps my case if I can explain how much money we are saving by me picking it up directly from the supplier- i just choose to leave out that if i didn't have this candle obsession in the first place- i wouldn't be spending any of it!!! any input would be greatly appreciated. I don't mind driving 50-75 miles either. THANK YOU!!!
  5. I am looking to put my products on a website to sell. I'll also be selling at craft shows. Do any of you have your own websites? If so- was is difficult to be able to accept credit card payments? I'm trying to avoid paypal if possible. Also- I used to sell jewelry at craft shows, but I'm unsure of how much product (soaps, candles, and gift baskets containing both) to take to a show. Any 'rules of thumb'? Thanks!!!!
  6. thanks for the reply. so far i have ordered things from fillmore containers, wholesale supplies plus, and candles and supplies. I completely agree that the few things i did buy at ac moore (the only craft store by me) tended to not be as nice. any other websites that people swear by?
  7. If you are trying to name them- crystal rose might be an option. kinda gets the pink and rose together.
  8. Hi everyone- I'm Jen. Just started making soaps and candles this week. My husband often leaves town for work ( he's a stand up comedian) and I wanted to get into something that would keep me busy. Any words of advice would be greatly appreciated. I do have one question though- if you make your own gift baskets- have you found somewhere to buy the baskets/boxes cheap? Either one is fine, but I've been leaning toward paper mache boxes but haven't found any that aren't sold in sets of 3 different sizes. Hope everyone's weekend went well and I hope to be "talking" with some of you soon! ~Jen
