I use glass glow palm wax and am looking for a cinnamon stick that has an awesome throw in palm wax. I'm currently using the Cinnamon stick from CS and am just no happy with the throw. Any suggestions?

Out of the pomegranates that i have tried (peak, bcn, daystar, berts) i like berts the best, especially for the price! And it has a really good hot throw in palm wax.

Amish Harvest is awesome, it's a spicy, cinnamon bakery type without the sweetness that most bakery scents have, and it is very strong (I use palm wax). The Birthday cake is delicious, it smells just like a frosted birthday cake with buttercream frosting, very good hot throw. The pumpkin spice is ok, it's not my favorite and for some reason it didn't sell very well for me last year, but alot of people use it so maybe it's just me. Peak has some great oils, they are one of my favorite suppliers.

I'm going to be doing a show in an apple orchard and so am looking for some great apple scents, particularly an awesome apple cider scent that doesn't smell like fuel in palm wax. I have tried peaks and CS apple jack & peel and had fuel smells with both. Currently I carry Homemade Apple Pie from KY and Botanical Orchard and Nectar from Peak. Any ideas?

I was wondering about Country Christmas vs. Cranberry Orange? Do you prefer one over the other?

I have never ordered from them before. What does everyone think of these? Is there anything else from there that I should order? I heard the Frosted Pumpkin was really good which is why I wanted to try them out...

For me its probably a tie between KY's Homemade Apple Pie and Peaks Lavender. I have alot of other ones that become really popular depending on the season though.

That's what I was hoping, I absolutely love candlescience they are one of my top suppliers (it's between them and peaks) . I was actually thinking about ordering some samples from fillmore because I read on here somewhere that their christmas tree scent was the same as the Balsam scent that everyone used to rave about from the natural artisan. I think that was the supplier anyway, I can't remember for sure right now?? Oh well...

Does anyone know if these 2 companies use the same supplier for fragrance oil? I was just curious because I noticed they used alot of the same pictures for their fragrances as well as having alot of the same fragrances. I also noticed that they use the same glass bottles for their fragrances. Maybe it's just a coincidence?

I use peaks patchouli and always get told by the hardcore patchouli fans that it smells just like it.

For those of you that ship candles out of state to wholesale customers, what is the most economical way that you have found to do this? I have a large order for candles that is going from Arizona to Indiana and although I have done wholesale within the state before I have never had to ship before. Do you package the candles in there original boxes and mail them that way? Which carrier is the best in your opinion, UPS? Any opinions or advice anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated as I want to make sure I can do this economically for my customer.

I use peak's gardenia and all of my customers love it! I think it smells as close as you can get to true Gardenia.

I have a customer requesting this scent and am not sure where to start. I did a search on the board and didn't find much info other than which ones stink. Has anybody found a good buttered popcorn scent that doesn't smell like stinky feet?

I recently tried Orange Blossoms from Fragrances By Design in bath and body applications. It's a very pleasant softer kind of scent. I'm pleased with FBD's orange blossoms. I'm not sure if it's a yankee dupe tho, and I did not test it in candles yet.

Actually Neroli Oil is a plant oil produced from the blossom of the bitter orange tree. While actual Neroli Oil may smell different (I have no idea) the oil I got from OT smelled just like the Orange Blossoms I smell all over town around here.

I just wanted to say that I got a sampler from Oregon Trail with these two scents in it and WOW! The lavender fields scent smells exactly like the essential oil oob, I have been looking for a true smelling lavender FO forever and this is the closest so far. Also, the Mysore Sandalwood is awesome, it is spot on as well! I'm going to put these in wax sometime today so I'll post my results in the future. Hopefully they are as awesome in candles as they are oob, we'll see...

I have been looking for a good Orange Blossom too! I live in Arizona and there are a ton of orange trees around here that smell awesome when they are blooming. The closest I've found so far was OT's Orange Blossom (Neroli Type), or you could try ICS (Snowtop) Orange Blossom, it smelled like orange blossom oob but I haven't put it in wax yet.

Does anyone know where I could find a 4" X 12" seamless candle mold, or where I could have one made? I have a customer requesting this specific size and only seeing a 4" x 9.5" or a 5" x 12.5" size in my searches. I'll keep looking but if anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated! :smiley2:

How hot do your jars get using the CSN 9's or the 11's? When I have double wicked with the CSN 9's my jars get really hot to the touch and I don't like that.However,it does burn well and little to no smoking or sooting with them and I get a really nice clean burn. I have not had to wick up yet for any fo that I have used but may try wicking down on some to see if that will still work without the jars getting so hot to the touch.

It depends on the fragrance but most of my containers stay cool enough to still handle them while they are burning. Even though I do occasionally wick up to CSN 11's, it is really rare that I have to. In fact like I said before I'll choose to leave some hangup on the sides over wicking up in a candle just because there is such a fine line between having a candle that cleans the sides of the container and also having a candle that burns too hot with too large of a flame. I think that's really part of the key with palm wax. Stella has a really good idea to wick down the candles purposefully so that they tunnel and leave a shell. You get to have the beautiful crystallized shell to burn a t-light in and probably a candle that burns alot cooler.

Palm wax container candles are so PRETTY it seems a shame sometimes to wick to "clean" the sides of the container! For larger containers, I wick them deliberately to "tunnel" and leave a thin shell on the glass so that when the candle has burned al the way down, I can continue to enjoy the pretty candle by inserting a tea light or one of those new flickering LED tealights. Palm wax RULES!!

I completely agree with stella, in my candles as well in order to keep the flame from getting too big you have to wick the candles so that they don't clean the sides of the container until they are 1/4 to almost 1/2 of the way down. It takes several burns in order for this too occur and they definitely don't burn all the way out to the edge of the container on the first burn. Palm wax is a whole different creature and can be very frustrating at times. There are also times when I choose the smaller wick and to leave a small amount of hangup on the container vs wicking up and having a flame that gets too hot and too big.

For my 16oz apothecary containers (4" diam) I usually use a CSN 9 double wicked. I occasionally have to wick up to two CSN 11's depending on the FO. I haven't had any problems with them though, the candles burn beautifully with minimal if any smoking or sooting, and the flame stays at just the right size.

They sell those along with the regular yankee candles at the Cracker Barrell closest to us. I've poked them before just because I was curious, and they are definitely gel candles.
