  1. I have run out of ideas short of taking him to the hospital. My husband decided to pour enough bubble bath fizzy powder (that I made) in to the tub to take 20 baths and instead of mixing it in his water he jumped right in and sat on top of it now he says the backs of his legs and butts.... burn and feels like they are on fire. Looking at them they first looked like he just had a really bad sun burn. Now after a couple of days it is dry and cracking like some one with extremely dry skin. I have been using my 100% vitamin E oil on him then putting lotion on top of that to seal in the moisture. The ingredients were natural except for the bubble bath powder I bought on eBay from a lady that said the company has gone out of business and are in Canada. Does any one know what could be causing this reaction? Is there lye in the bubble bath powder? What can I do to sooth him should I go after another hospital bill or try shea butter? The bubble bath concentrate is from: Jentle Soaps. Could the combotation of that and the citric acid givin him the effect that it has? Please any input is helpful.
  2. I have melted in a microwave for the last 6 months and only had 1 thing happen. I used a glass meaturing cup and it shattered in the microwave while I was on the phone so they are right it isn't safe. I am now looking for a cheap prest pot to melt my wax now.
  3. I enjoy making bath fizzy bombs and some times it works some times it doesn't. I also have tried to make them in egg shapes using plastic eggs. and mine break in the middle while trying to get them out. I have had some crack after I let them dry and wraped them. I have looked for a better recipe, I just haven't found one. So now I am just experimenting and trying to come up with something good. does any one know of a better recipe i could try. I also thought I would try bubble bath fizzys. But, when I test them, they fizz but not much bubbles to speak of. Anyone have any suggestions?

  5. I have been making candles for about 7 months now and have tried different wicks and containers. Now that I am getting short on cash due to all the testing, I thought I would ask advice before I waste anymore of my ol' mans cash. I am using baby food jars and C-3 soy wax in some and parriffin in others. The dye I use is blocks. And I get fragrences from Candlesource.com. The wicks I bought from SS Country Dreams Co on ebay. The sizes I have tried are 3" RRD29 and 3" 36-24-24z and some other one I bought from ebay with my soy kit. I either get mushroomed wicks while burning or the wick burns down to fast and has a melt pool of about the size of a dime and goes out by the wax. My 2 questions are. What size wicks should be used for this size jar? The baby food jars are 4 oz. and the other question is, if I bought wicking on a spool is there a web sight I can find out how to wax them I would like to wax my own wicks to save money. I have tried to look it up but I guess I was having a blonde moment that day because I couldn't find it. LOL Any ideas? Please help!
  6. I have used it with C-3 soy when I was beginning because I kept getting a bad result with out. Now that I have gotten better with candle making I don't need it. However, when I used it for smother tops it worked ok. but, had many different results with the different size containers. I think it worked better with larger containers.

  8. hello people, i went on line and ordered some bubble bath consentrate powder on ebay and after getting it i found the company is in canada and i cant get ahold of them to ask ... the company is Jentle Soaps. there is no instructions on how to use it to make bubble bath. on the container it says it can be added to bath fizzys also. sence it is in a powder that should be easy however i would like to make some bubble bath with it. does any one know how to use it or how to mix it? has anyone ever used it? i really hope i didnt waste my money on this item. if anything i can atleast use it for bath fizzys.
  9. First I want to say hello, this is my first post. I am working with C3 soy wax and keep having the same problem. I have been making candles for about 6 months now votive, container, and tarts. I have tried different temps for pouring and have also tryed to keep the room at a decent temp, around 72 degrees. I have poured at 160, 150, 130, 120, and 90. I have also tried additives like, vybar 260, vybar 103, universal additive, and translusent (i think is what it is called). I still end up with big holes in center of tarts and candles, or pulling away from glass. I have also noticed frosting when I dont use additive. Some have told me it is a one pour wax and other people have told me it needs a second pour. my containers are baby food jars and jelly jars. I have also poked holes and done the second pour. does anyone have any advice. to help get rid of sink holes (that look more like crates) and frosting. Why does the wax pull away from the glass? I redid one candle 6 times last night and after 4 hours of fighting with the wax,(the wax won)! i gave up!
