  1. Actually, that link is pointing to the old site- this one will be kept up to date! http://www.isocan.org/ Click on the Program tab at the top for the demos.
  2. I have a Oki 5200 and love, love love it! It does have a higher price per page for consumables, though, but IMO it's well worth it. The quality is fantastic. I've done side by side comparison with other laser printers, and with printing from some local and online professional digital printers, and it's right up there with the best. When you're comparing prices though- find out how much toner replacements are, and how many pages print per cartridge. Also what other consumables are needed- drums, fuser, etc,; how much they are; and how often they need to be replaced. Lastly, figure out what you want to print- some like the Okis are not compatible with clear labels and transparencies. The fuser runs too hot and will melt them. Good luck!!

  4. Lard/tallow is a good substitute for palm oil, but you can also use olive or rice bran oil. In one of the conferences I went to, there was a bar of 100% olive and another bar of 100% rice bran oil. You can't tell them apart as far as properties and feel go... Since then, I have up'd my rice bran oil considerably in my CP soaps Kitty

  6. Sometimes letting the soap set for a day or three allows the FO to sink back in. Ask me how I know. Barbara
  7. If you are pretty certain your molds are leak-proof (mine are), I would use quilter's mylar. I have some that I have been using for THREE years now. They are not cut perfectly and I use them over and over and over again. I only have leaks if I am not certain the wingnuts are perfectly tight on the end and if I am pouring at a VERY thin trace. eta: I get my mylar at JoAnn Fabrics. Just ask the ladies that work there. Barbara
  8. Oh, I don't think that was ash! Sometimes, once the soap cools you get a really different look. Once, my son left the oven on ALL NIGHT. My soaps had this "cooked" look on top and I had to cut those suckers as SOON as they were cool enough to handle. But ... they were perfectly usable ... lucky him! Barbara
