Hi!  Eggnog isn't one that I have as of yet, but let me check to see. On our Facebook group I have a ton of people who are offering to send stuff in. I have to see if that is one that they suggested.

I have about two ounces of Grandma's Swingin' Eggnog I can send you if you want to get it duped.

I haven't found a pelleted votive wax that works as well as 4794 does, so I'll deal with the occasional gun drawn on me when I break it up. LOL

It's really not difficult enough for me to give up on a great wax, but that's just my experience.

I hope your pelleted wax works for you.

I do love the ease of the pellet waxes though, and use a pelleted pillar blend for all of my pillars.

I didn't make votives, only melts, so I can't comment in that regard. Glad that 4794 works for you.

The specific scents I need are Almond Pastry, Holiday Sparkle, Winter Wonderland, Old Towne Bake Shoppe, Grandmas Swinging Egg Nog and Cookies for Santa. All the rest of Peaks scents that I used I can probably get else where but these are the main ones I am on the hunt for.

I think I have about half a 4 oz. Bottle of Grandmas Swingin Eggnog. If that helps you, send me a pm. Not much but maybe enough to dupe?

They are not being duped just for me. He asked people what they would like duped and of course many spoke up. Of course I did not have samples of what I was looking to be duped specifically but if my samples help someone else out then all is good. I do believe he said on Facebook that some samples have already been sent out to be duped. He has not said how many he plans on carrying at this time.

Which scents are you looking for?

Soy farming is becoming as polluted as cotton. I would like to read articles about what you have learned if you have time to post them...

and a high ho yes to finding alternative waxes.

I try to stick to verifiable sources....here is one I originally found on Sciencedirect, but our own government has it on their web site:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24491722  Compositional differences in soybeans on the market: glyphosate accumulates in Roundup Ready GM soybeans.

The next really scary thing, which I think is relative to the recent changes we are seeing, is that Monsanto had designed a package of seeds and herbicide designed to work together-but they released the seed before the herbicide, so farmers planted the seed and then used old type herbicides on these beans.  This herbicide was not labeled for this used and they used way too much, causing drift and damage to a lot of other crops.  If you Google Dicamba, you'll find loads of stories from 2016 and 2017 about farmers using this stuff on soybeans.  Farmers also used something called 2-4 D on these plants.  Two states banned Dicamba, and there are a lot of lawsuits going on about these off label uses.

I don't know what exactly has changed in soy in the last year or two, but for sure something has happened, and it is not good.  If it can mess up wax, imagine the issues it is causing in our food chain.  Next time you shop at the grocery store, read the labels and you will find soy is in almost every single prepared food on the market INCLUDING CHOCOLATE!  Gasp!  Now that sh!! just ain't right.

    ?☹️?

Yet the FO retailers are taking so much blame lately.

I am burning 10 candles in my kitchen just to empty the tins for more blend tests. Can't smell much of anything. This is killing the soy candle market right now.

Ready to switch waxes but am in the early Faire season and don't have enough time to properly test aLternatives.

With the scary stuff I have been reading about herbicide in gmo soy, and if you have to retest anyway,  may be time to look at an alternative wax. I can post links later if anyone is interested

Soy waxes can change season to season, year to year, because no crop is going to be exactly the same as the last due to weather patterns, soil density and nutrients in the soil, etc.,

However with that being said, I don't know if there have been huge differences in GMO vs non-GMO.

That is what I wondered. I have seen so many recent posts about issues with soy wax, and don't recall so many posts in the past.
