  1. With the melt and pour it takes exactly 4 hours to set and let it cure over night. Actually you can pop it out the mold an hour or 2 after it cools i give mine the extra time to cure so i know i'll have a good strong bar of soap but i really love it. Try and see if you like it and i also use pam or a little veggie oil to help me pop my molds out. I have tried the other way and i broke maybe 4 molds trying to get the soap out. The red bar has an FO called lovely in it, the single bar is mango butter swirl, and the 3 bars are coconut dream with apricot kernal meal in it they smell so wonderful i had more bars but they weren't ready to pop out just yet. Try it and use different way to pop your mold and see how you like it. NiyaBean

  4. My sister wanted to know if I would add milk to her glycerin soap and I asked her why, she stated she needed a a moisturizing bar I told her I would ask but I doubt it very seriously. If anyone could help me out i would greatly appreciate it very much.:embarasse NiyaBean

  6. Oh wow I am so totally addicted to m&p soaps now i'm in the process of making a coconut cream bar it smells so delish.... And Maybe I'll make some peaches and cream for mom since she loves peaches so much. I will keep you all posted on how it goes. Some of my bars i made previously were so ugly i was ashamed to even say i made those. :embarasse But i will be making more and more soaps, i guess it was a beginners error. I also purchased a mold from misty creek and I love it, it takes the pain out of popping the molds out
  7. I just recently purchased some melt and pour soap base from gourmetrose on Ebay! And I am so totally sold, this is the best soap base I have had in years. It's a melt and pour soap base you just add what you need to it and it sets up in hours. I made 4 glycerine bars to test it out YUMMY!!! I also purchased the shea butter soap base and i love the way it makes a nice and relaxing beauty bar or body bar depending on which you prefer. I will be posting pictures of my bars when they are done. Happy Soaping Everyone!!!!! Niya

  9. I called one company and they told me to use 50/50 one part soy and one part parrafin *thinking* if i don't really care much for parrafin wax why would i give my customer *future* customers anyway something i wouldn't use myself. *shrugs* it's alot to think about and it's a little overwhelming to me right now, but i can show you the molds i just recently purchased which i think are pretty cool. I hope they show up
  10. Good Day everyone! I have been missing in action, my computer wanted to take a long nap, so I missed coming to read and post on the boards:( . I know you get this question alot:embarasse Here's my question. I have been working with soy wax i purchased it was pretty cool when i started, but now i want bigger and better candles, what is the best wax to purchase to make pillar and votive candles, i would hate to waste money on wax and not get the best candle for my money, and if i used ecosoya wax do i need an additional wax to make it harden and give it a smooth appearance. My uncle takes me to craft shows and i want to make a full time business and would love to give my customers the best candle for their money so i can keep them coming back. LadyN.

  12. Just a suggestion. Have you ladies & gentlmen ever thought about taking you products to some of the local hairshows? Personally when I was attending cosmetology school I went to a Bronner Brothers hair show and i saw more hand crafted soaps and bath & body products I have ever seen in my 39 years here. They had lavish tables set up and a few tables had big shea nuts and where making the supplies to order, one lady completely sold out in 2 days, the show runs for 4 day spans and it seems to me to be a purfect way to get your products out. a few friends of mind have made loyal customers and have built up a nice base and have since moved on to open retail stores. I wanted to know if any of you were interested in getting your products out and networking that way if so you can go to the Bronner Brothers website and give them a call to find out where a show is coming to in your area. What are some of the ways you network to get your products out there in the market place. Peace & Blessings Niya http://www.bronnerbrothers.com
  13. HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!!!!!!! santa wink For the holidays my mother in law purchased me 23 pounds of Golden Shea Butter. *yay me* and a slew of jars and mason jars she loves the whipped vanilla shea cream i make for her and my aunt's. Now my question to all of you is do you keep it in the regular brown box and clear trash bag it came in, or would you jar it up in mason jars to keep it safe. The brown box and trash bag is bugging me it just doesn't fit my decor.:undecided Any suggestions would be helpful Thank you Niya
