  2. Hello everyone; I'm thinking of selling my soaps and lotions online locally since I have to stay home with the children now. I was wondering is oscommerce a good way to do it or should I just get the site and design it myself, i'm not really up to date with all the new cgi/perl/php and other stuff they have, so its all greek to me. I need something simple *for a dummy basically* and work it out that way. what are some of your thoughts on this?
  3. Thank you ladies for all your help and I am very gratefull you answered my question. *hugs* LadyNiya
  4. Hello everyone! I wanted to know where I can possibly find a good mailing list software for a website I am designing for a friend. I cannot seem to find a good mailing list or I'm just pretty much blind at the moment, trying to design a website for my friend has been a trying experience when 2 people are trying to design 1 site and it's not looking so good. the site: https:///www.turningpageevents.com
  5. *LOL* at the way I spelled ever.... yes I was asking about African Black Soap. It's sold in blocks here and i was wondering do you shred it down as to rebatch it? I have never really worked any other soaps other than melt and pour. I can't bring lye in the house because of the shi tzu's i have and my son. So I was walking around the different shops and saw black soap and I really want to try it for the family. Thank you carebear
  6. Good afternoon everyone, I'm back after being sick for almost a month and a half!! I'm interested in making black soap and adding some fragrance oils to it for the family and to give as mothers day gifts to friends and family. They love all the gylcerin soap and goats milk soap, I want to add something new. Is there a certain procedure to follow or do you just rebatch it like you would other soaps? Thank you all so much LadyNiya

  8. Sorry for getting back to you so late. We had death in the family. But yes the bath gel does make it foam up as you add water to it.
  9. To balance this recipe out I used a 1/4 cup of bath gel base because it was dry, I also added a preservative since it is a scrub and being use in the bathroom. I don't want germs and bacteria in it because it is surrounded by water all day *stored in cabinet* try the 1/4 of bath gel base and she how it goes, you can tweak it to suite you. Thanx for letting me know something was missing from the recipe.
  10. Thank you so much for all your help, I will not be purchasing anything from them at all. This morning around 2:00 am I just happened to be up setting up my ebay store and recieved an email from her stating my payment decline *Thanks God* my card rejected the payment and I called my bank to make sure that the payment didn't go through, only to find out the payment was never submitted. I know now everything that looks good isn't good. So I wll purchase my body mist base from someone else or better yet make it myself instead of going the lazy route. I'll stick to sites I know who will deliver and have a secred server. *hugs* Peace and Blessings you all have really saved me alot of money and grief! :highfive:
  11. How many of you have purchased from wholesalershub.com? I have been trying to reach them VIA telephone about my order I placed and everytime I call all I get is voicemail. I work hard for my little cash and not being able to contact customer service about the order is really concerning me.
  12. I finally found a salt/sugar scrub I really love! It's basic and simple and really easy to make. Making Sea Salt Scrubs Keep that summer skin beautiful by making some of your own salt scrubs or sometimes called Salt Glows. By making your own scrubs you can save money and you will be assured of fresh ingredients . Bath salts are used for many different purposes, and they make great gifts too. The basic ingredients: 1 cup Fine Sea Salt 1 tsp Baking Soda (sodium bicarbonate) to maintain freshness 1 tsp Carrier Base Oil - Almond Oil or Safflower oils are perfect Fragrance 1 or 2 drops Colorant - food color would work well to color your salts. optional Herbs - optional This is for smaller batches! Put 1 lb fine sea salts into bowl add 1 tea baking soda add fragrance, and carrier base oil and color (optional) and mix well. Pour into decorative jar and that's all folks! You can always add extras such a vitamin e oils or glycerin for extra aromatherapy or skin softening properties. recipe found:http://scentsations4u.com/fine_seasalts.htm P.S. Yes I have tried this recipe and I love it very much and so does everyone in the house even my baby boy who's 13 yrs old:)
  13. I need to put you in my Angel stash!!! *lol* I went to the market to purchase the milk I needed and Lo and Behold I found a craft table for my kitchen in the lower level of my home and I was looking for one for a good while! So know i can soap all day and relax on my laptop and send pictures of my soap Thank You SOOOOOO much!!!!! I will be posting pictures soon as they cure *hugs*
  14. I am so happy I found this thread, it's been on my mind for a long time, how to add milk to my soap You answered my nagging question! Thank you so much prairieannie you are a Heaven sent Angel!!!
  15. I did make myself a small jar of sugar scrub i used 1 tbls liquid castille soap 1 tbls safflower oil 1 tbls vanilla FO 1 tbls raw honey 1/4 cup sugar 1/3 cup of hawaiin brown sugar it turned out pretty nice feels very nice and took the scalies off my legs thank you ladies so very much!
  16. I do have an oil i use safflower oil with vitamin e which is pretty good. I was just wondering about the liquid castille soap and it's just sitting collecting dust, the children and my husband won't use it unless i push the issue. So i have 3 bottles of liquid castille soap just sitting in the kitchen doing nothing. LOL:D And I do need a sugar scrub because the winter is so harsh on my skin poor little legs just scaley:o
  17. I have all the dry ingredients for a sugar or salt scrub, I was wondering can you use like a liquid castille soap for the scrubs or go with a bath gel base. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  18. I love the Shea Butter mp soap base, but I think the oatmeal base is alot more cleansing, even though you can add your own ground oatmeal to it as well.
  19. The name of the FO was Love Of Allah a scent my DH loves so i made the soap using the oil only a teaspoon of it and the whole batch is oily to the touch as well as only using 1 teaspoon of shea butter oil. Then I made another batch using the same amount of cotton candy FO and no oiliness. So i guess i'll just use that particular oil for him only.
  20. I only used 1 pound of soap base and 1tsp of shea oil and 1tsp of FO *shruggin* maybe it was the FO because the other batch I made using a cotton candy FO didn't turn out oily and i did that batch the same way.
  21. DH recently purchased some glycerin soap from a local wholesaler here in Maryland, I did my normal melt and pour added 1tsp of shea butter oil and 1tsp of FO and the soap feels so greasy to me now. Wondering how can I add the oils without it feeling so greasy or oily. I have no idea where his supplier is and there was no name on the container.
  22. I am very used to using shea butter soap base, goats milk, and oatmeal rebatching soap, but i never used glycerin soap base so it like a new toy to me and i wasn't really sure how far i could stretch my limits so to speak. I didn't want to kill the soap and add too much oil or not enough. The shea butter and goats milk are more moisturizing and the glycerine is just a clear base so it was pretty new to me, but i have the hang of it now. My website is laying on the clipboard thanks to Mother in law and will be up as soon as i get all my images and things together.
  23. I did try to add a few things to my bars for other family members and they loved it. I added pure 2tsp shea butter , 1tsp of evening primrose and 1tsp of FO and apricot kernels and to one batch, turned out great! So i do have to play around with it a bit more. I'm not to new to m&p but very new to glycerin soap, so it's coming along pretty good. Thank you all for your help!
  24. Yes! I feel your pain, since i have stopped using store bought soaps I have not had any reactions to chemicals, but if I go to a friends house and wash my hands they itch and burn awfully so I take my own soap with me now.
  25. I recently did a few bars of glycerin soap and found that if you use a bar of pure glycerin soap it makes a great cleansing/clarifying bar as I like to call it. It dries the skin out pretty good and hubby loves it that way since he has very oily skin. My question is... can I add other oils to it rather than just shea butter or will it be too oily causing it to lose the effect i want it to have. I still want it very cleansing to get rid of hubby's oily skin, but i don't want him to look as if he fell in powder either . I would love to add almond oil, apricot oil, safflower, sunflower, and etc... oils to my bars. And the Goats milk was a plus to one of my bars turned out pretty well my sister took it soon as it was done :rolleyes2
