Anyone have a simple (2-4 oils) very hard bar soap recipe - not using lard or tallow?
-
I use fresh spring water from a nearby spring and goats milk from a local farmer. A friend of mine has been providing us with fresh jersey cow milk for drinking... anyone see an issue with using it for soap?
-
I've done 1 pp ounce ... soaps have always been perfect with the exception of Cinnamon and Sandalwood. It was listed as B&B safe however the Cinnamon was a bit strong on the skin. I'll probably cut down to .5 and test it next time.
-
its per pound of oil or per pound total weight of soap?
-
Title of thread should be FO per LB
Is there a general rule of thumb for quantity of FO when using FO instead of EO for Soap?
I have seen .33 oz FO pp but I have also seen .66
I searched this board (Soap Making) and havent been able to find anything.

We use CS Lemon Verbena instead of citronella, same family but not stinky!
so what exactly is the chemical component that makes bugs fly away?
-
Anyone know of a good smelling Bugg Off type fragrance? Something with a blend maybe to offset the stinky citronella smell.

I was going to suggest KYs lumberjack. I have been testing it and love it! Bert's redwood and cedar is good, but definitely not a sawdust scent in my opinion. The KY one is more of a straight wood.
That is exactly what I need. I love you so much thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

anyone know a good sawdust or wood workshop type of fragrance oil?

Anyone have any suggestions on a good wick to use with 4761?

I have not used Ecosoya PB but have used GW 474. I love the 474 it makes beautiful creamy smooth votives and release w/litterally no effort! I've had great success w/both CT & HT:cool2:
do you add any addtives with the 474?
-
Oil prices and the of course the religion of AGW. Thanks to High Priest Al Gore and minions of lemmings.
-
Has anyone used both and picked one for votives? If so, I'm wondering what the outcome was.
-
I've decided that I'm going to experiment with votives. Currently I have been making only container candles. From what I have read GB 474 is sounding like a wax that I would like.
I would appreciate any information about good votive molds to use particularly with this wax. Flexible? Metal? Best place to purchase?

Anyone seen a kraft soap box with either an acetate window or no window at all?
Or I'm looking for any natural type of soap container.

i seriously love you guys..
thanks,
patrick
