I am attempting to make candles in the sugar/cheese shaker tall containers.. They are 5.5 inches tall and 2.5 inches wide.. I made some bakery scents, hot apple pie, baked berry cobbler, spiced oranges etc. Some of the containers have the black soot? I am using ig1945 container wax with 1 oz pp oil and 44z wicks.. Could some of the soot be due to the height of the container? I am keeping them trimmed every couple hours and mine didnt seem to bad but a friend was testing burning the apple and the container came back filthy, however she burns them all day long... Is some soot strictly a sign of a bad candle or possibly incorrect burning techniques??? Any suggestions?? Thanks Tracy

I am going to get these tins going.. I use the 1945/4630 container wax. I typically use zincs and have been scanning the forum for posts on this topic. Seems people are all over the place with wicks on these.. I was going to start with a 51 z.. I havent ever used other types of wicks.. What else would be good to order to try if these dont work?? Thanks, thats one way I was looking at them for was wickless. I also wanted to do a line wicked, so I wasnt sure maybe of doing them all wicked and letting the customer pull it out if they want wickless, lol.. I appreciate the input!! Tracy

I am looking to add the 8 oz tins to my line.. Can any users suggest or comment on different qualities of the tins.. I need to add these pretty fast and cant order from several places to see the differences.. I was thinking of using sksbottle.. Anyone tried those 8 oz rounds, likes or dislikes... Ok, was looking into a craft show in June and wanted to get my mom into the wooden roses.. She arranges flowers so nicely, thought this would be a perfect venture for her... however.. was wondering do any of you foresee a problem with your picky craft shows question the handmade part?? or do you think since shes arranging, scenting etc it will fly?? I questioned wooden rose and they are imported... what are your thoughts or what would you say to picky show coordinators?? Thanks for your help! Tracy

I have a request to make my 11 oz barrel jar candles (anchor hocking) wicked.. Usually I only do wickless.. Of course I know I have lots of testing to do.... I use igi4630a formerly igi1945.. its a preblended one pour container wax.. The jars have a 4" diameter... I need to order some wicks to start testing, can any of you give me suggestions on whats the best to start with?? I like zinc wicks or LX.. thats what I have used in the past.. I will be using Spiced Cranberry, Autumn Spice, Hot Apple Pie and Peppermint Kiss for FO's.. Appreciate the suggestions! Happy Holidays! Tracy

Ty scented, appreciate the help.. The 1260 is a high MP embed wax, the 4761 a preblended votive wax. I have never attempted pillars so this is what I have on hand, lol.. But the more I see your guys pics, the more I love em.. As for size I was thinking like the standard 3" ones, gonna look for a mold to try. I dont typically buy supplies from Hobby Lobby either, but thought it would be easier than ordering a bunch of stuff when I dont really want to make a bunch of them .. I understand the quality is much less when buying it that way. Thanks again!! Gonna give this more thought, lol! Tracy

Okay, after coming here from the gallery, I am admitting I must try a rustic pillar.. I loooove them!! How hard are they to make?? I have some IGI1260 wax and IGI4794 and IGI4761 wax here now.. Any of this work??? I just want to do a couple for myself. We have a Hobby Lobby in town, I was thinking of just grabbing some wicking there to try, any suggestions?? Ty all for the help!
