  1. I have those plastic bins to transport my tealights, votives and it's one of the best purchases I've ever made!! Like Carlena said, they're really not together long enough for the scents to mingle so you should be fine. They have the bins are Target and you can get them for about $10 or less in different sizes.

  2. I found some tealight holders that I want to add to my line that I can get cheap. These aren't the cheap holders, these are the ones heavy enough to hit someone in the head and do a little damage!! ;) The trio holder is about 2.5 lbs and the single ones are about a half pound. I'm trying to figure out what to charge for them. I can get the single holders for less than $1 and the trio for less than $7. Any suggestions!!

  3. Ok, I wasn't going to comment, but I have to say something now...Danielle I believe before you said something publically, you should have gone to BizzyB privately like many others have suggested.

Thank you, e...in fact, it was my intention to keep her identity private if and until there was a need to make it public, which I don't know what that would have taken. However, I did post in another post about it, which did identify her, and so I take responsibility for doing so, but as only two people responded to it, I assumed that only two people cataloged it, and those two people are ones that I know are not drama-seeking people. Therefore, I did not realize that it would be easily connected, or I probably would have just avoided posting about it.

Surely, this never happens on CT!!;) Think about all that will read a thread 100's of times and never comment, but it doesn't mean they didn't see all that was there.

    2. I never stated a name, never intended to make this public, never desired a name to be identified.

Unfortunately, you did "state" a name. You posted the logo w/ BizzyB and you also referred to her as Bizzy in the initial thread.

I'm not here to bash you, but just suggesting you watch what you type. ;)

  4. I'm working on ideas for my next show and need your opinions. I wanted to offer some kind of incentive or something to get my 2006 vendors to participate in 2007 (which will be more expensive because of the place). I was thinking of "Raffling" a space for the 2007 show. It would be just like a traditional raffle, you purchase a "chance" for $1 each, etc. So a person might get a space for $2 instead of $100. What do you all think?

  5. I'm going to be changing the name of my company soon and plan to use the new name starting in January. I need ideas on how to handle the stock I'll have left over w/ the 1st company name. I was thinking of doing a sale in December and saying "While Supplies Last". Any other suggestions?

  6. Why don't you try both jars and see which one sells better for you. Sometimes it all depends on your area. I've ordered from the Jar Store. If you order free samples, they may take a little longer than if you place a paid order. They get the paid orders done before they send the free ones out.

  7. I use vistaprint.com too. They have a free option where you can get 250 cards and pay only for the shipping (5.25). The catch is that on the back side there will be a small line at the bottom with their company name.

I get my cards from them also. BUT, if you can luck up and catch a sale on the upgraded business cards, they don't have the small line at the bottom. :D

  8. As a former seller of PartyLite, I've been tryingto figure our a way to stay away from what I called "The School Room Blues". I felt like a teacher trying to keep my second grade class' attention! So what I want to do now is more like an open house kind of thing. People can come and go between a certain time - I bring cash and carry items as well as a thick order book (one can hope to go home with the book filled completely with orders! :) ). I'd hand out a half sheet of cardstock with my company info, product info, and that kind of thing on one side and a "Wish List" on the other so people can write down the products they like in the scents that they like. That way they can take the list home with them (after placing an order or buying something, of course!). That way if they are short on cash for that week, they can come back and say "OH I loved that Lavender Patchouli soap and the Cowboy Kisses candle - can I have one of each please?" I think the host/ess will like it too because it's a set time limit - say 2-4pm and they know that they can have plenty of time to make dinner for the family or when to have the pizza guy come! :)

So what do ya'all think of that - I'm I nuts or what???

Great idea...I used to sell PL too and know how that can be. I've done MANY Open Houses that were like what you mentioned above. One of them that I did over the holidays had about 10 of us (some upstairs, some downstairs). I only sold $75 worth that day, BUT, they've been repeat customers. Good luck.

  9. I first test it like a ignorant, uneducated or lazy person would burn them! Straight through for a few hours, usually around 6 hours right off the bat. Longer if I am able to keep an eye on it! Then, Ill take another canlde and burn it the proper way!! I figure if my candles can burn right the "wrong" way, then I am "safer". Glad to know that there are a few others who do the same things!!

It still amazes me how people don't read certain things. You would think they'd read a label on something that could burn their homes down and/or kill them, but that doesn't happen. I had a lady I know call me to tell me she'd lit one of my jars before she'd gone to work and had forgotten about it. She didn't get home until about 10 hours later and was "happy" to find the candle still burning and the "house smelling so good". I told her about reading the label, causing a fire, blah, blah, blah. Then a week later she told me she did it again so the house would smell good when she got home. :shocked2: Every time I see something about a house fire on tv I look to see if it was her!!

  10. In some cases if you live in an apartment the city/county will require that you get a letter from your landlord allowing you to "make"/"do" whatever business inside the apartment. This letter has to be on file in addition to them giving you a license. I would call back and ask someone else. Tell them what you want to do and ask them to explain what'll you'll need. You may even want to go to the office and speak to someone face to face.
