Wow...how fantastic! Congratulations!

Deana, If you provide all of the necessary information, and then fax the claim to them, it usually takes about 2 weeks.
-
If they have a UPS Worldship system in their warehouse, then it's quite possible that all the information was correct on the invoice, but wrong in the Worldship database due to human error. Happens all the time where I work. We send the invoices out to the warehouse, the address is typed in wrong when processing it on the UPS/FedEx machine, and then the (wrong) address is automatically saved in the system. Next time you go to ship to that address, you simply type in the first three letters of the persons name and city, and it automatically fills in the rest of the information. Someone has to physically change the information in the database or it will continue happening.

Peaks Spiced Cranberry is a big seller of mine during the holidays. It's one of my personal favorites to pour and burn!
-
The "forms" you have to include with a shipment going UPS or FedEx are actually three copies of your invoice showing your company name and address, the consignee address, a list of what you are shipping, the value of the product, and the Country of Origin. If you decide to ship that way, just stick the invoices in an envelope and write "Custom Docs" on the outside of it and attach it to the box.
And yes, the brokerage fees are higher unless she as a brokerage account with UPS. Also, don't forget when filling out the forms to mark that the receiver will pay the duties and taxes. You don't want those charges being invoiced back to you!

Thanks Crafty and Eugenia. And yes, it does look a bit "pissy" to me!!!
-
That's what I played on the soap calc. with, all oils and butters that are "whiter" in color. I don't have any TD, so I was hoping to achieve a whiter bar more naturally.
Oh well, have the fun of all of this is seeing what you end up with, right?
-
Thanks Meridith! I've played around with my recipe all morning, trying to get the whitest bar possible, so it would figure that my darn lye water would turn out yellow!!!
-
I'm new to this, just on my third batch of CP and I've run into something that I can't find an answer to. Any help would be appreciated.
I mixed my lye into my distilled water ( w/sugar) and after the initial cloudiness, I noticed the water had a definite yellowish tint to it. I don't remember that happening with my other two batches. I'm using the same container, spoon, water. The only difference is that I am using a different lye. ( I bought some out of the classified section here.)
Any clue why the water would be yellowish? Should I dump it or use it?
Thank you!

Good luck keeping them all in line Debbie. I know that I certainly had my hands full with the Ohio group. Being the oldest, I felt it was my duty to be on my best behavior. (LOL!)
Sounds like you are all going to have a GREAT time!! Just getting to know everyone "in real life" is a huge part of the fun!
-
I wrote to them about the shipping (my shipping came to $36.00 and my order was small!). It's a glitch in their shipping calculator. Call them with your order and they will give you the correct shipping amt. If you want to order on-line, then they will credit it back to your credit card.
-
I was gonna say the same about it--it's one of my BEST sellers from early spring until winter!!
One of mine too!
-
Added the Mac Apple, and Jamaica Me Crazy too...another winner!

I have! I used it in the first CP soap that I made. It was great to work with. No problems, and no discoloration.
-
Been there, done that. First....Stay away from an open flame!!
Scrape off as much wax as you can, then put several layers of paper towels over the stain (I think a brown paper bag works too.) and keep ironing over it. The paper towels will absorb the heated wax. Then throw it in the wash. It usually takes a few washing to really get the stain out.
-
Great job!! I really like those!

While I admit, that we did have a good time and lots of laughter, we also had our serious times. I believe Heather's underwear comment was part of our "What I Can Do to Save Our Environment" discussion. Heather is concerned with water pollution and has made the sacrifice of doing less laundry in order to put less pollution into our water. I applaud her for her contribution to saving the environment.
We also discussed womens issues, the pressures some women deal with, and ways to just let go without stressing about it so much. "Just let it go" became our catch phrase for the weekend and I think that at least a few of us walked away knowing that sometimes it's better to just let it go, rather than letting pressures build up inside until we feel like we will explode.
We discussed our pets, and the importance of good nutrition when it comes to giving our pets snacks. We want them to live long, happy lives!
And we all chipped in and made a charitable contribution to a young mans college fund. I was so proud to be a part of that, and seeing the look of joy on that young mans face.
So yes, we did have fun, but we also had our serious moments when we learned so much about each other. That's what made the whole weekend worthwhile.
P.S. Following in Heather's footsteps...My name is Debbie, and I am also full of shit.
-
Debbie....You'll have a great time, don't worry! It's amazing how wild these people really are...LOL!! I can't remember the last time I've laughed (ok, and talked..LOL) like I did this weekend. Just be prepared for lots of laughs and very little sleep!

Come now, ladies. We all know and will agree that I was the true lady of the group. Quiet, mild-mannered, and very well-behaved when out in public. You might as well admit it.
Ginger
For the first time in my life...I am at a loss for words. Nice try Ginger...

The conference was nice, but for me, the best part of the was the "extra credit" part where I got to meet some truly awesome people. The true inspiration came, not from the presenters at the conference, but from being around the talented people that I've met on this board, and seeing their dedication to the craft.
MA, Kim, Ginger, TLC, Heather, Wonderfullywicked...thank you for making the conference more than worth it for me. You are a great group to learn from and to party with, and I thank you all for the fantastic time that I had.
I have to say too, that the suppliers who were at the conference were all great. It was nice to actually meet the people behind the product.
-
LOL...Don't worry, I would never reveal any secrets! I posted simply to establish that I was the well behaved one in the group...LOL!
-
I just want you all to know....Being the oldest in this group, and the most mature, I really had my hands full trying to keep this bunch in line. Oh the stories I could tell....LOL!!

She's on her way over...Wonder if I have time to make a sign announcing she's single to hang out the window?

Peaks here, too. I've tried liquid dyes from several different suppliers and Peaks wins, hands down. They also seem to last forever...LOL!
