Better sales than last year, but not what I was hoping for(really didn't want to pack anything to take home!). I was the only candle vendor...sales seemed to be slow all around and the table on either side of us(jewelry and wreathes) didn't have a single sale.
I didn't hide behind the table, was polite and spoke to total strangers, and kept a smile on my face all day. A better attitude and being better prepared made this a pleasant experience and I won't be as hesitant to try agian in the near future(instead of waiting a year again!). Thanks all for your advice and support. Candletech is a great place to be a part of .

Leather...makes me sick, but people love it! If I have to use it, it is out on the porch....I don't care the weather...it is not allowed in the house1

thanks all...what great ideas for getting rid of these...I buy all the little extras from the thrift stores, so I will be searching for more things to add to the basket...my doctors wife runs a christian organization to help pregnant teens. I bet she could use the basket for a raffle or something.

Thanks all...the cut-out is from a cookie cutter(after applying the whipped wax to the shell, it is still pliable enough to get a good, clear cut-out)...I tried to get a pic of it lit, but am seriously photography challenged and now the camera is being a booger and won't sit on the camera dock w/o flashing a mean little red light a me.

It's a long story, but after making 8 of these pillars and 70 votives for an order, the order was never picked up or paid for, so I am trying to find something to do with all these baby powder scented(yellow and green), pink sugar(pink), and lavendar(purple) astorlite G candles...the basket includes 1 baby blanket, 1 onsie, and 1 infant sleeper.

Absolutely beautiful!

Had to add my 2 cents about people following burning labels...my doctor was kind enough to display some of my hurricane candles around the office...after giving the full verbal directions for proper burning, they proceeded to use short pillars in all of the hurricane shells! The next time I went in, the candles were misshapen and had wax from the pillars stuck to the insides, but they were STILL on display. I took all the candles home...I told them the candles look like crap because they didn't follow the instructions, but they still had my business name on them and I wouldn't tolerate it.

Very neat...how did you achieve that effect?

Great definition between colors/layers...both are amazing candles to be proud of!

Thanks all...maybe it is a kid thing..my son said.."Whatever you are making down there, throw it out!" I think it smells alot like pomegranate, but a bit tarter...I didn't care for it OOB, but now I love it!

I am really taken with the chunk candles...the chunks are very defined and the yellow is a beautiful shade.

earlyamericancandlesupplies.com will send you as many 2lb. samples as you order as long as you pay shipping...luckily, they are within driving distance of me, so I visit every once in a while and pick up samples...I've got at least 3 different waxes waiting to be sampled(it's a good problem to have:cheesy2: ).

Thank all...Robin, you have great powers of observation! The gift boxes are the free flat rate boxes from the post office wrapped in grocery bags and the holiday paper I had left over from last year. Display techniques on a budget!
