Hi, My name is Deedra. I'm a soaper who has now amassed a fairly large collection of FO's. I'm now adicted to FO's and as it will take me a million years of twice a day showers to use all these FO's (and the ones I keep buying...LOL!) So, I need to branch out. I've done some B&B but I think I'm now ready to start with candles. I had decided to start with J223. It seems to be a pretty popular and easy wax to use based on my reading here. Well, then I saw a garage sale listing on a local FO yahoo group for a case of J50 for nearly half price of other suppliers. (Plus a whole load of FO's she was unloading as well!) So, if this wax is still available I'm going to change gears and start out with that one. I will be doing 8 oz jelly jars and I've also got my eye on these little 4 oz jars. The 24 pack comes out to .42 each including shipping. (I have other things I need to order anyway and the diff in shipping isn't too bad) I'm planning on ordering zinc, htp and cd wick sample kits from Bitter Creek South. Can I rule out any of these types of wicks or should I go ahead and test all of them? Anything I need to know about the J50? Pros? Cons? I think some reviews I read said it's kinda sticky? Sounds like it throws pretty good. I've used Wal-Mart candles most of my life and just recently got some good hand-crafted candles from a couple of fellow soapers. My, what a difference!! I'm excited to get started, but I need to wait til payday to place my last couple of orders. Anyway!! That's my round about way of saying HI!
