what are you lining the mold with or does the mold have a liner already with it? Just looking for some alternatives to freezer paper.
Thanks
Pretty pink soap by the way!

Thanks! I never seem to find what I am looking for when performing a search. I am thankful for those that are kind enough to help those that are search engine deficient!

If this has been hashed out several times...please forgive me. I searched but did not come up with a specific thread....anyway........What is the major differences in Golden Brands 444 and 464. What makes one better than the other? I just purchased 10 pounds of each and I have finished up the last of the 464. The only thing thus far is the sink holes and some coloring issues but otherwise ok.....I have not used enough of the 444 to notice any problems. Do they behave similar? Does the scent throw vary with each wax? Just looking for some expert advice out there! Thanks!

I have some of the glaze and have kept it mostly for my own use. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to get it out of that large gallon container and into bottles without gooping it everywhere? I always get it all over my hands!

I love them!! They look classy. I would buy from you.

thanks everyone! I am not so talented but can most likely get away with a pillar!

I came back from my beach trip with many, many seashells. Is there anything I can do with these other than a gel candle? I have an assortment of waxes.... any ideas?

I know I have read some replacements somewhere but I CAN'T find the posts now!! Anyway, Rice Bran Oil is the most popular from what I remember but I would likes something I can purchase locally. No one sells RBO around here and OO is just so expensive! Is the new "blends" when canola and olive oil something feasable? Any other oils comparable? Thanks so much

I have been using a plastic square mold ....kinda a make shift mold from something I recylcle from the hospital where I work.. They make great disposable molds and can withstand the lye. I can occasionally use it a couple of times....my thing is cutting the bars straight!! Does anyone have a FOOL proof method of making even and somewhat uniform bars? For the most part it is like cutting brownies. Most people I give the soap to do not care but I may be interested is selling them one day. I can invest in an actual mold and have a log mold but why change a good thing if I can come up with a way to cut them?? Anyone?? Thanks!

I usually make cp but was playing around with some MP and layered it in a loaf with the majority pink watermelon and topped it with a green layer kiwi.... I popped it out of the mold and cut it and the layers separated! Is there anyway to "glue" it back? Thanks!!

I like Millcreek's soy lotion base

I have used Millcreek and people LOVE it!!! I tried a couple of others....when they were cheaper or on sale but hands down...Millcreek. It is a light weight lotion with enough ummmph to make your skin feel great. It is also very easy to work with. I usually heat it up a little to thin it out for mixing and pouring...only to be sure and shake or mix it well again. Never a complaint!

I have started buying some things from them and have had excellent service and the shipping is soooo much better. They are in Raleigh.

I've been using the new Advanced Soy and I really like it. I do mix mine with about 20% plain soy (no cottonseed) and 2% stearic. Most of the scents I've tried have at least a good throw and some are excellent. I don't like the look of plain soy either unless it's uncolored but most of my customers want color. The blend I've been using has very little frost (if any) and they set up so nicely.
At what temp are you pouring this blend. So break it down for this simpleton. If I want two pounds of wax for candles....I would do what? Sorry it is late and I am tired but curious. I am playing around with this wax and the cold throw sucks but the hot throw in carrot cake is pretty awesome. Not so good in others. I love the way they look though!

I have been testing this wax and the first pour was too hot and I too had big sink holes. I just zapped them with the heat gun. The second pour was at 140 degrees and there are no sink holes. It does sorta "climb up the wick" but no biggie at all. I am quite anxious about the scent throw. I have heard some bad things about both waxes. So far the mimosa and mandarin from candle science is not throwing too great either hot or cold. It smells awesome out of the bottle and in other waxes. The hot baked apple pie is going to be a good one I think. I am giving them a few days to cure and see what I light up!!

For some weird reason, many peach scents have a hint of something I think smells like......cat pee. The only true peach that I found was Scent Works White Peach. I really like that peach....very true.

hmmmm never thought of tape...maybe I will give it shot! I just hate to purchase those darn waterprook labels. I really think I am going to stop selling body washes after this big fundraiser I am doing. I will try to sell people on my soaps instead!

I have been using a high gloss label on the 8oz boston rounds for lotions, linen sprays and body wash......I am trying to get away from the body washes...anyway...when the lotion bottles are used as in squeezed or is it sqoze? the label crinkles up and looks ugly to me! I started using pumps for that very reason with lotions. I have a smaller 4 oz bottle that I have only given away to people because I don't want that to happen. What do you use on bottles that require a little squeeze?? Thanks!! Oh yeah and if I have to sell that dern body wash....does anyone have a method of waterproofing without actually buying the waterproof labels? thanks and sorry so lengthy!!

I was expecting a multilayered colorful candle and WOW those are awesome!!!! Too cute! Now I have to attempt another....but thanks!

I have been making soy candles for awhile and have gone to the "other" side and trying out some parrafin. Since the pouring temp is much higher than a soy wax, I am finding wicks do not stay put!! Any suggestions? I use wick stickums and almost every one of them has dislodged and started floating. I anchored some wicks at the tops of the containers but know they are not stuck on the bottom. What should I do? I have a glue gun and thought about using it.
