  1. It has been very slow here as well. Today has been a good day though. I acutally take it day by day! I have a retail location and honestly had considered not renewing the lease as the economy is so crappy. But....I chose to sign on another year and everyone tells me to hang in there and give it a good three years. I am still trying to get more wholesale accounts to keep me going and hired a rep...So far she has not found any account but some good leads. Just keep on trying! I learned last Christmas that I should be making seasonal products NOW and hopefully will be ready. I was definately not ready for Christmas last year and completely under estimated my sales.

Now...I get excited if we sell over $50 a day!

  2. Ok....This spa I am working with requested my sugar scrub in a "pumpable" consistency. So far....I have been able to at least give them something in a Malibu. They bought a gallon and really liked it except........she calls today and asked if there is anyway I can make without leaving a residue in the pedicure tubs! Ok....now I am stuck. In order to make the scrub a little thinner...I use no stearic and a little more oil. I am making an emulisified scrub and to me....it leaves very little to no residue. Could the ewax be a problem?? I am using Debk recipe with a little tweeking. Is there a better emulsifyer that will not leave a residue? I am using light oils in the recipe like jojoba. I saw a commercial one somewhere the other day and it was almost gelatinous. Not sure I want to go there but....I thought I would ask if someone has any suggestions!Thank you!!!

  3. I love your backwoods stamp! That looks great!

My problem has also been with the graphics. I currently have my logo in a jpg format as that is how I use it! The only way I can get it in the correct format was to ask my logo designer to change it and that was 25 dollars. Not sure I wanted to do that for a free stamp. If someone knows how to get my jpg logo formatted for free....please let me know!

  4. I thought I had it all figured out and tried Debk sugar scrub recipe...which...by the way...I love!!! I left out the stearic completely and put it in a 16 oz jar with the larger pump from TSW. Unfortunately the sugar seperated and sunk to the bottom.. Sooooooo I am going to try with just a little bit of stearic and go from there. If I cannot get it to pump I will try refillable Malibus. If I get something together for this spa...they have two other salon/spas and are getting ready to open an express nail spa and would like to use my products for all of them! One more question...does anyone know of a LARGE malibu, larger than 8 oz with a larger hole for dispensing? THANK YOU FOR ALL SUGGESTIONS!!!!!:grin2:

  5. That is so cool about the new ice cream shop! It is so nice to read about other people and their candle jar fetish! I settle on one and think I love it forever and there is another! I am loving the Crissa(sp?) right now, but could be persuaded to like that melting jar with the chrome!!!!

  6. I have a request from a salon/spa for a sugar scrub in large quanities. They have requested it be in a "pump" delilvery system as it is more sanitary for multiple users. They plan on using this for pedicures. My current sugar scrub is basically a tweaked version of Bohunk# 14 recipe and is too thick. Should I attempt using less butters and use more oils? I use turbanado sugar and wonder if it would have to be a finer sugar to come through a pump. Any suggestions/recipes for a "pumpable" sugar scrub? I prefer emulsified scrubs with less oily residue. Thanks for any help out there!!:D

  7. Hey Jooniper where are you at in NC? The only jobs I have are candles and housework so if you aren't too far maybe we can get together and play since you wouldn't be able to get to the Saturday meet up.

Jaxalex ~ My sister who helps me with candles said to count her in too.

I live in High Point. You are not too terrible far...about 2 hours away I think?
