  1. I have never ordered from scentworks but it sounds to me like they must be waiting for it to come in first if it is out of stock. i had a similar incident with another supplier...container was out and it took a few weeks for them to get in. but once they had them I received my order in a couple days.

I would continue to try and contact them.

things may be backed up cause of weather depending on where they are located and where their order is coming from.

Also Washingtons birthday is on their observed holiday list and that was yesterday

  2. I am going to donate 32 bars of soap to our us troops.

I made some soaps that didn't quite turn out the best and I thought maybe I could donate them to the troops instead of just packing them away to use myself.

I added some tea to the soap to change color and it has a hint of tea smell along with the scent...when I used it I didn;t get the tea smell just fo scent and it was nice.

I didn't want to put them up for sale in case someone was not going to like that tea smell in the background

Do you think it is a good idea to donate this batch?

  3. have you tried going with natural products for cleansing?

I can only speak from my experience.

I have had issues with what I call mild cystic acne for years and i am now 50 yrs old

When I was In my forties my teen daughter suggested i try using all different products to clear my skin and I did.. but nothing worked long term.

thats about when I started making soap and decided to create a face wash/scrub that was made with minimal , natural ingredients.

Since I have been using my face scrub I have had no cystic breakouts and my son has also used it for his acne with great results as well.

if you want to check it out you can go to my website and see what you think.

  4. Read here. there is so much helpful info on this site.

Sticky notes at the top of each forum and bookmark stuff to keep it handy.

As far as where to buy from, it depends on where you are and what you want to buy.

Personally I make soy candles. Thru alot of testing and what not to get a good sellable candle.

i buy my wax from Nature's garden and that is where i started.

wicking candles will be the most challenge you will face as different scents will act differently.

What you want when testing a candle is a full melt pool across the candle so that all wax will burn completely for your jar candles. Also good scent throw.

You will have to test alot to get this right and read alot.

i usually read all customer reviews on products. this can be helpful when diciding what size wick for a particular size candle...but again your testing is the most important.

I started at Nature's garden because there is alot of information on the site to help you start out...guides to making candles and also A starter kit that I myself purchased first when I began making candles.

Not that you need to o ...just an option.

  5. anhoki on etsy makes fabulous stamps ( her dh makes them, they are very reasonably priced.)

Ok , I will check and see what she has. Thank You :)

Checked and I did not see any soap stamps , Maybe she doesnt make them anymore? she did have some nice soaps and candles though

  6. I am Making shaving soap for my son today. I will be pouring it into a pringles can so ill have round slices...Just wondering how you all use them once sliced

Do you put them in a bowl or container or just in a soapdish?

Do you use a shaving brush or just lather up with hands.

My son just uses bar soap at the moment and uses his hands to lather up.

I am making this a special recipe to help him with his razorburn issues etc...

    thanks

    Kathy

  7. Oh I just had a thought since my husband is always asking, why don't you carry some type of sports related stuff like redwing coasters.

I do have a sport font that I could use to label the mens soap etc so it looks manly...but that doesn't help me with the name of product unless I just keep it simple

Mans Soap, Man Cologne, Man Shave Soap etc.

Few words I came up with for product line

    Callenge

    Event

    Reveal

    Broadcast

    Conquest

    Rival

    Active

    Action

    Champ

    Score

    any opinions welcome :))

  8. I will let you know how it goes ...gonna make a small batch may be do 3% to start...I did find a recipe that add 2 oz to 3 lbs batch so thats around 5% if my brain is figuring right

But not sure how reliable the recipe is as it is the only one I found...nothing to compare it to.

    I'll report back

  9. I am so new to this web store stuff I didn't really think about the searching part ....so I think it's settled . I do want them to find it when searching mens soap etc so I am going to name the page Mens Soap & body ... The product name will either be His Way Or Navigate...I am consulting a few men on this part as I think as a women I may tend ot go with too cutesy of names.

    Great advise ...thank you all!!

  10. my idea originally started at, guy needs to smell good too as a friend of my stated.

so i thought i'd like to have a manly section so guys feel like products are made to suit them and not girly.

And I guess I am not stating it correctly

    I thought

the page name...you know the button label to click on to get to the man section, would be labeled His Way.

And the product line would be called

    Navigate.

    Navigate

    Soap, lotion shave soap etc.

Or i suppose the product like could be his way and leave Navigate out completely
