  1. I have been carving for about 3 years now and I get all my supplies from John at Candle Fun....www.candlefun.com He has everything from the wax to the glaze so he could answer a lot of your questions for you. If you contact him, let him know I sent you. HTH I love carving and get great compliments on my candles. I also have had the separation issue in the past but I don't remember what the problem was.....I think it had something to do with the microwax. John will know.

  2. I don't know about picking my brain, but I'd be happy to bring you a copy of the pattern I used. The doilies are all 8" so hopefully the ones you have are close to that size. Thanks for the compliment.....I've very proud of the way it turned out.

  3. Thanks Lorrie & Maggie. I love the way it turned out, it looks so victorian. As soon as I saw the pattern I knew I had to make it. It was really pretty easy since the pieces are large. Maggie I'm sure your biscuit quilt will be georgeous. I plan on making 4 more quilts.....different patterns......before Christmas. I want one for my two children as well as my husbands two, for Christmas gifts. My sister in law has a commercial quilting machine so she is doing the quilting for me. Thanks again.

  4. Ok, I have my first quilt top completed and ready to send to the quilter. The problem is, I can't figure out how to post a pic on here. If you would be willing to post for me, please send me a pm with your e-mail address and I'll forward it to you. I'm a bit computer illiterate I guess. Thanks

  5. Scented you are not the only one interested in the bowls. A few years back someone told me how to make them using a balloon that you keep dipping til you get the thickness you want. Well I tried it but they didn't come out quite like I had hoped. Yours sound much nicer than those were.

  6. Kyme that is really cool. I love all the bright colors and it's such a nice heirloom for her little girl to have forever. It was always hard for me to place my pieces. I seemed to want to keep my lines straight and it just doesn't work that way for crazy quilting. You did a great job.

  7. By the time I get this baby done, I'll be so proud of it I'll want everyone to see it. :laugh2: I do think it will be beautiful. I have all my blocks made and just need to put them together and have my sister in law quilt it for me (she has a commercial long arm quilting machine).

  8. That sounds really cool and I'll be anxious to see it. I am currently working on a quilt that includes 1/2 doily in the squares. It is going to be beautiful and very victorian looking. I can't wait to get it done. I've decided to make quilts for my kids for Christmas, so I really have to get my buns in gear (need to make 4). The one I am working on now is mine and it won't be going to anyone. LOL

  9. Has anyone ever found out what wax Scentsy uses? I was helping my daughter move yesterday when she showed me a plug in warmer & tarts she bought from them. Talk about a slap in the face!!!! I asked if they were really stronger than my tarts and she said they smelled her whole apartment and just kept raving about them. She always loved mine until now so I'm wondering what the difference is. I think one thing is the different layout in her apartment than in the house she was in. It was plugged in on the stairway wall that allowed the scent to rise to the upper level as well as in the lower level. I'm going to take some more of mine over and let her try them in the new place. I couldn't believe she went out and spent that kind of money when she always got mine for free. LOL

  10. Yes Judy we definately will be having the yankee swap on Friday night as usual, but we are going to be calling it something different. Just a little twist from our usual. I will post more about that as well as other events taking place on Friday evening, just as soon as I get a couple more things finalized. Got your curiosity up yet????? I hope so. Keep watching the blog for more information.

Anybody that is sitting on the fence, you really need to make up your mind BEFORE we fill up. I've been to several conventions and this by far is one of the best. As Tabatha said, the good bags alone are worth the cost of the registration and the door prizes are the best than anywhere else I have been. BTW, everyone in attendance gets a door prize and not just a few and all the prizes are very close in value so no one walks away with a cheap looking door prize. Abbie & I have been talking about the various demo's, speakers & vendors and it's going to be great!!!!!! You really don't want to miss out just because you waited too long to register. Hope you decide to come!!!

  11. What a good idea!!!! I hadn't thought about making 1# batches to use up some of my 1 ozer's. I've got a ton of them too but normally mix them with another fo to get a custom blend. I'll have to try the soap. Would the plastic velveeta cheese boxes work as a mold for these?

  12. I guess it's always good to try others soaps, but Scented, you don't need to be soliciting soap from anyone...........your's are great!!! Now if she decides to pack it up and send it to anyone, it should be ME!!!!!!!!!

  13. Great job!!!!!!! I love the colors and the fragrances sound wonderful. I'm curious about the Asian Sandlewood (I think that's what it was called). That's a scent I haven't used but it sounds like something I would like to try. You've been busy.
