Yeah it can get pricey LOL but Im addicted:D going to try a few other places for my FO's though.. I like a select few as well from C&S
-
WOW your about 35 mins away from me.. I did our community day here, not a good venue for crafters either but the kids had a ball.
I get most of of my supplies from C&S they are 5 minutes from me.. which can lead to me spending way to much LOL
-
Sharon, where in PA are you? Im in Pennsburg
-
I can forsee a trip to C&S tomorrow.. lol I am going to try a slab to start testing with.
Id be curious to know the wicking size as well
-
hows the HT with this?
-
C&S has an awesome Harvest Spice, so far everyone Ive given out candle samples to loves it. Autumn afternoon is another favorite and apple jack n peel.
http://www.jarstore.com/ I like their prices, if you dont have a candle supply co. near you. His include the lids which I end up having to buy individualy anywhere else and I end up saving about 6 bucks even with shipping for a case of 36 jars

I was just looking through my candles and supplies book at their waxes and saw 1275 a paraffin soy blend, has anyone else tried this and with what results? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Im trying to narrow my choices down, so far Ive got J50 on my list and 1275 from C&S and i looked at cb4627 but Im worried it might be too messy to work with?
Trying not to feel overwhelmed by all the choices.:undecided

J223 caused too many wet spots for me...
I guess Im going to invest in a heat gun to zap them LOL
-
Is there another brand of soy I can blen besides that one? Candles and supplies is 5 minutes from my house so Id like to get something from them if I can..
-
Im also thinking about J50, can anyone tell me anything about this wax and the best way to get a good ct & ht? Any additives that would be beneficial?
TIA
-
where can I get it from?
-
GB402, im guessing is a wax? LOL who makes it? Honeywell?
-
Ok, heres the thing, I started using the j225 after I tried the 223...too many wet spots with the 223, so far Ive had good results with the 225 but then tonight I checked the 12oz containers Ive had packed away in a box for a few weeks and there are little round circular spots that are differents from wet spots, and the wax was pulling away from the container in spots!!
Im really frustrated, I thought this would be *the* wax for me, now Im not so sure...I heat my containers like im supposed to, clean them good before, followed the melting instructions for this as well . Any ideas what could cause these?
Also Im open to wax suggestions since I really think I should try some more before limiting myself to this one..I refuse to sell something I myself wouldnt buy!
Thanks for letting me rant..

Ouch! That's alot of "Mula" for just 2 days. I can understand it helping to support "Women", but what type of "Women" is it going to help would be my question. Yes, it would be great exposure for you, but man you'd have to sell ALOT to make back that kind of $, plus it sounds like your DH's weekend is busy enough as it is.
If it were me and you had to look to make enough back in just 2 days to cover the cost, I think I'd let it pass by. That is unless you have that kind of $ to spend for exposure. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for helping support "Women", but still, that's alot of $ to me for just 2 days. JMHO,,,,,,Portia
Definitely agree, you'd have to sell a ton to get back what you paid to just break even. How many candles etc would you have to sell?
-
WOW thats alot of money, it's a great way to get your name out there but ouch at the cost.. honestly if it were me I would skip that one :undecided but with that being said, only you know if its worth it for you.

Theres a calcualtor??? LOL Boy is hubby going to kill me He worked on my receipts for an hour the other night and created an excel spread sheet for me...on what Ive spent so far and how much each candle costs me to make. Dont think Im going to tell him theres a calculator floating around out in cyberspace!
-
WOW! Congrats!!

Id be curious to know what additives with J50 you use as well if its a 1 pour arent the additives already in there? Yes you can tell Im a newbie LOL Im still learning
-
LOL its ok to love soy Im really only interested in making container candles so if I could find THE wax for me lol I would be happy, I think I have found it but will keep testing until I find exactly what works for me.
I heard soy is hard to wick?
-
Cool might have to try that too.. I dont want to limit myself to just one wax if I can find something I like as much as J225...
I love the CT & HT with it.. just not crazy about the price lol
-
Is J50 a one pour?
-
I dont use soy either.. just have a sample coming that Im going to try
-
Just curious to see who likes what.. so far my favorite is turning out to be J225 I love both the cold and hot throw.... I have a sample coming in the mail of a soy wax so we'll see how well I do with it!
Id really like to find something that doesnt cost as much but works just as well..Ive tried J223 but I wasnt crazy about all the wet spots..so heres to more testing lol..

YAY! Glad your day went well Now go soak those feets! lol
