  1. i did it i did it!!!!

    on this part of mals:

    Don't use PayPal!

    Website Payments Standard

Using the standard Web accept payment method to transfer the customer to PayPal to pay.

    Express Checkout

Like the standard method only with tighter integration in the cart.

Website Payments Pro - Premium accounts only

Express Checkout plus a credit card payment option (for people who don't want to pay by PayPal!)

i had the last one checked and i just now changed it to the second one and i finally got to the part where it looks like everyone elses and gives you a choice of pay pal or credit card..

    Praise the lord!!

    Thanks dpowell, riverstreetdesigns, and caradelrae!

i had been working on this all day!!

  2. Well i figured one thing out. i had it set on the mals part to put the pay pal express checkout button on the main page with no other payments. but now that i changed it still doesn't look like part that me and dpowell was taking about

" Pay Fast With PayPal It’s free and private. Merchants never see your financial info."

and then below that "Don't have an account?" "Use your credit card or bank account (where available)."

it looks like it is trying to accept a credit card thru mals....but that can't be...i have it set for pay pal....awwww i am in shopping cart hell....

  3. Probably, but you should be able to use website payments standard instead of pro with mals according to paypal.

That will let you have the credit card through paypal from customers without a paypal account option you are looking for.

that is what i thought, but it is not happening. :cry2:

  4. Website payments standard through Paypal will give you what you want for free. It is compatible with Mals. This is very similar to what I'm doing with Zencart. You need to setup IPN with paypal and use the Website Payments Standard through Mals. The link below should help you with that.

    http://www.mals-e.com/paypal.php

This link will help you with the Paypal end of the setup:

    https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_wp-standard-integration

In order to use Paypal Website Payments Pro you would need to sign up for with Paypal and it costs $20 / month.

    http://https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_wp-pro-overview

    Hope that helps.

yeah i don't have to have the paypal website payments pro right?

I did all the other two links you gave me on the top. I want to be like on thecandlesource.com website and a few others where it says

"pay fast with pay pal" or

"Don't have a a paypal account" and then it lets you pay by credit card.

maybe it is a mals acct problem or with pay pal. which i have emailed both this morning. (sigh) i don't know i am missing something....

  5. If you are using Mals, I believe all of the setup for PayPal is right there in Mals. If the customer is going to use a credit card, they will need to select the PayPal option and pay that way (no need to sign up for an account).

Otherwise, if you want them to input the credit card through Mals, you would need to sign up for PayPal Payments Pro or Web Payments Pro.

no i don't want them to go thru mals then i would have to get a merchant acct.

when i go into mals and under pay pal i have this checked (see below) and i do have a premium acct. And on pay pal i have the premier acct and that says that customers can use credit cards with out having a pay pal acct.

****Website Payments Pro - Premium accounts only

Express Checkout plus a credit card payment option (for people who don't want to pay by PayPal!)

  6. PayPal Account Optional

When this feature is turned on, your customers will go through an optimized checkout experience. This feature is available for Buy Now, Donations, and Shopping Cart buttons, but not for Subscription buttons. Learn More

    pixel.gifpixel.gifpixel.gifPayPal Account Optional:

    On

    Off

you mean this? i have tried it with it on and off. and it gives the option to set up a pay pal acct or sign in with pay pal when it is on it but nothing about not using pay pal.

  7. For those of you who use pay pal how do you set it up so that your customers have the option to pay by credit card if they want to without having a pay pal account. On pay pal it says i can do that with a premier acct which i have but i can't seem to make it work! HELP!

  8. yeah that is what i am hearing, you either love it or hate it. i am with handmarket now and i am having a great experience and she is soooooo helpful. Unfortunatly i have still not heard from shelly. I just hope she is o.k. and there is nothing to severe like a death in the family or something like that. but business is business.

    Hey michelle,

i love your website. it was one of the ones i sent to beckie to let her know that is what i liked. she did my graphics too. they are awesome.

  9. oh wow i didn't realize you used her too Grumpy. I have been following your website as it has grown. I love it. Especially the smartass remarks. :laugh2:

i think you have convinced me ms grumpy. I will give it a try. :highfive:

    Thanks everybody.

  10. What is that whole MAL account thing? Is that hard to work with. the DIYestores comes with a shipping cart. But this one you have to get seprate. At least the basic on is free but to get the one that calculates the shipping it is $8 a month. Which actually makes it cost more than the diyestores. only $4 more though.

  11. That's pretty neat, just downloaded the free trial. Though I'm confused on how you enter inventory. It makes it seem like you just add in one lump sum? Can you do each item in particular? Like how many of each wick etc?

You have to enter the supplies first like you wicks and wax and fo's. Then you create your products from your supplies but telling it how much of each supply you used to make a certain product.

    it is cool.
