  1. I was making a small batch of test candles today with some of my new FO and 100% soy wax. I just bought new oil based liquid dye to test out as well, but when I put it in the melted wax it would not mix. So I added an emulsifyer and that helped the color mix. On the next batch I tried just water based food colors into the wax to see what happened. They mixed right away with no problems. So what I am thinking is that maybe some of the issues with mixing the FO have to do with the water based soy and the oil based FO not adequately mixing. What is your opinion on this? Maybe using an emulsifyer will stop the oil seeping problems on highter % of FO? BTW I used Conditioning Emulsifyer from MMU because that is all I had on hand. I use it with lotion making and that is where I got the idea to test it in soy. If anyone wants, I can do a side by side test batch one with emulsifyer and one without for comparison. Let me know.
  2. My DH went to Home Depot and Lowes but neither had the clear tubing. He made me a teeny one that is 1 inch in diameter which is a bit small but I will test it out later. I also am planning a trip to Lowes to see what I can think up. I'd love to make one that fits the ball making press plates so I can make nice circle ones. I am round bomb impaired. I wonder, what if they were wider? Like 2 inches? How wide are the ones they sell? Thanks for the ideas. I would love to make some of the tablet bombs for my children's school findraiser.
  3. Thanks! I would LOVE a virtual class! I am a hobbyist and try to do bath bombs with my kids. We have yet to do a successful batch of rounds..the mix is either too dry or wet (setting off the reaction) and yesterday we tried a tip about puttin moist stuff into baking soda before adding cytric acid, it was terrible, we had to throw away the whole batch because when we added the CA it started the reaction. So we will make these today! *crosses fingers* Also what is the press you use? A meatballer? best, ilona
  4. My DH is going to home depot to get the stuff to make me one of these today. If there is extra pipe then if anyone wants to do a swap or something for one let me know. I hope it works out as I have a terrible time molding round bath bombs.
  5. Do you think these contraptions would work with the round press molds? Like if you put the mold inside the tube, then mix then top of other round, then hammer it.... instead of buying a 300$ press?
  6. I use soy wax it works lovely! I use it in lip balms too.
  7. Did you use an emulsifyer? What ingredients did you mix?
