  1. Hello All! I don't make candles very often. I specialize in making silicone molds. However as the holiday season approaches I am getting ready to make my home made gifts. I love the look of these candles in the link that I have attached. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200150715937&ssPageName=ADME:B:EF:US:2 Can anyone tell me how to acheive this look? Is it a special wax? Specific pouring temp.? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Corey www.scents-n-such.com
  2. HI! I get mine at National Art Craft. The more you buy the cheaper they are. They have them in white, black, and brown. Clip in, snap in, high profile, and low profile. 6 feet and longer. I get my silicone tipped bulbs from there too. I love to purchase things from the same place and save on shipping. They have great customer service too! www.nationalartcraft.com Corey Midwest Silicone Molds/Scents N' Such www.scents-n-such.com
  3. Hi! I am trying to pm you but you have no more space in your mail box. Can you email me at bcgrayson@sbcglobal.net regarding the fo's that you wanted to purchase? Sorry for posting here, but I didn't know how else to get ahold of you! :embarasse Corey (bcgrayson)
  4. I think it looks lovely. Congratulations! Corey
  5. HI! Room temp, in a rubbermaid. No problems so far. Corey
  6. HI! Yes, I have poured embeds from these plastic candy molds. Just make sure your wax is cool enough so that you don't melt the molds. I have done that in the past! LOL
  7. I agree that the seller did not misrepresent anything. The description said nothing about being a smoke free home. I just didn't read the description carefully. Just looking for odor removing tips. Thanks everyone!
  8. Yikes! Share her name please! LOL I don't want get stuck with something from there! LOL
  9. I am not alergic to smoke, and it usually does not bother me, however these are so bad that the tarts come out smelling like smoke. I know I should have read the description closer, this is totally my fault. I was just looking for some odor removing tips. Thanks everyone!
  10. Hi! Yes you can use soy for the whole candle shell. I would suggest using a lower wattage bulb, perhaps a 5 watt or 3 watt since soy is a much softer wax and will soften easier than a harder pariffin wax. Have a great day! Corey
  11. What a great idea! I am gonna try that. Thanks much! Corey
  12. HI! Sure, Because the soy is so soft, I let them sit for quite a while before I demold. They come out really nice. Soy is not very translucent so you don't get the "glow" when the light is on, but you still get quite a nice looking candle.
  13. Hi Jane! Yes Ruth and family closed up shop. She went back to school to get a PHD and now she is writing books too. They sold everything off. I purchased her fragrance recipes and color dye block recipes. If there is a scent that you liked of hers, one of their "custom" scents, let me know and I will send it to you. Blessings! Corey
  14. No problem at all with the soy melting. It does not get close enough to the bulb to melt. TTUS Corey
  15. Hello Everyone... Here is my problem. My candles and tarts are coming out of my silicone molds with pits. I can't get a smooth candle or tart for the life of me~ Here are the specifics. I am using a blended, granulated wax - KY143. Recommendations say to pour at 180 degrees and I am doing so. Can't figure it out! Can anyone help??
  16. Make a groove in the wax, from the socket to the outside of the shell. Just big enough for the cord to lay inside. This keeps it from tilting the candle sideways.
  17. Hi! These sell fast at $16.95 on my table. I don't glue the light socket in at all. When I make the master mold, I drill just enough wax out so that the clip light snaps right into the wax shell. It just stays put, so easy! I market these as "Flameless Electric Candles". People are curious so they stop over to chat. Some people just don't get it! LOL...
  18. Thanks! I'm gonna put on my lab coat right now and whip up a batch! LOL.. Thank you so much! Corey
  19. Thank you so much! I have saved the link in my favorites. I will contact them and order some. Have a super day! Corey
  20. Hi Judi! Thank you so much for the information. I never thought of going through paypal. That is the way that I paid for them. I appreciate you taking the time to respond. Blessings! Corey
