  1. Thanks guys. Scented I will have a little display for testing/sniffing the perfume oils, but not the lip glosses for obvious reasons. I think I'll shrink wrap both and maybe make small "lip" stickers to go on top of the lip gloss.

I could use different color caps but I already have the bottles with white caps and I'm not sure where to order just the colored caps for them. Open to getting them if anyone know where I can order caps.

  2. Later this Spring I'm going to do a charity craft fair for my daughter's church. I was only going to take lotions, perfume oils and little gift sets of the same. Lately I've been re-visiting lava lip glosses that I use to make many moons ago and think the young crowd will like those.

So my dilema is... my perfume oils are packaged in roll on bottles and of course, that is what lava gloss is packaged in. I know I can label them differently so it's clear what is what, but I can just see someone rolling lip gloss on their wrists and perfume oil on their lips anyway. :shocked2:

Any ideas of how I can change up the packaging for the glosses or the perfumes?

  3. It looks like a lava lamp. You color glycerin and fill a roll on bottle about 1/3 full. Then you flavor and sweeten a viscous oil (like castor) or a mix of others...just so it's thick. Fill the rest of the bottle with the oil. They should stay separated.

When you tip the bottle up and down the glycerin flows through the oil like the "lava" in the lamps.

  4. Searching for the mini (approx 5ml) roll on bottles that are about the same height and diameter of a lip balm tube...not the short/squatty version of the 10 ml roller bottles. I've googled for them all day with no luck. Does anyone know where I might find this size?

  5. I would not add preservative. It may not be compatible with what they already have in there, plus some are temperature sensitive and need to be added at a certain point in the emulsification process.

Maybe you are thinking of concentrated bases that are meant for you to add additional ingredients...i.e. add water for cream or lotion consistency etc.

I would call the manufacturer and ask if in doubt.

  6. Cedar, just a friendly word of warning. Adding to a preserved base could throw off the preservative balance of the final product. Usually a base is preserved at the % required for the water, oils and butters already in it.

  7. Ugh, Aquatech was less painful to order from when they included shipping in their prices. However, it's the only place I can find the hemp lotion. :(

If you ship to a business address it's bunches cheaper. I did a test cart for just one gallon of hemp lotion and saved $4.00 on just that one item. I live in Arizona and they are in New York, so the shipping included was a great deal for me. Now I just ship to hubby's work...I'm retired and have no place of business anymore or I would ship to mine.

The more you order, the more the shipping goes down,
