  1. OK. I am going to wick up to the LX24 in my 8oz sq. mason jars. The LX22 is just not quite getting all the wax in the corners! Will update once I burn!
  2. Thanks alhughes ! Yea I knew I was pouring to high but did not want to waste that little bit of wax!
  3. Thanks Shana! I have actually bought a few of your candles back in February. Great product! That was long before I even dreamed of trying to make one myself! Now, after making only a few candles, I am hooked!
  4. Oooh that sounds great! I just ordered 10 samples from ICS. What scents have you had good luck with from Candle Science in soy? I am using the cb135.
  5. It is an 8oz square mason jar I ordered from Candle Science. I went by the site measurements which is 3". The LX22 seems to be working really well. I am going to order some fragrances from BCN tonight and pour some of those next week to see how they burn.
  6. I started burning my first candle this morning..I know I did not wait 24 hours! It actually is burning really well. No smoke or soot and it took about 2 hours to get a complete melt pool about 1/4 inches deep. I put it in a small bathroom and closed the door. After about 30 minutes I walked in to a wonderful smell! I will try it in a larger room in a few days....after it has had time to cure more! I will update later! :yay:
  7. Thanks for the input Sheri! Do you use the LX wicks? I will burn one sometime tomorrow and see what happens!
  8. My first two candles are poured and I have to say they look pretty darn good for a candle pouring virgin! LOL! I guess the true test will be when I burn! I poured the cranberry marmalade in an 8oz sq mason jar with an LX22 wick. I added my fragrance at 160 degrees and poured around 120. The tops are smooth and good glass adhesion. I want to try the Hemp cored wicks. Does anyone else here use those in soy? Here they are....what do you guys think?
  9. OOPs! I posted in the wrong Category...Sorry!
  10. I posted a new thread with my pictures!
  11. Thanks for the warm welcome and suggestions. I am getting ready to make my first candle. Wish me luck!:highfive:
  12. I have been reading your board for months now. I really enjoy the fragrance discussions. Hopefully I will be able to give advice one day! Well I have made a small plunge into the soy candle making world! I have hundreds of soy candles I have purchased but I want to give it a whirl! I live close to Candle Science and am going to pick up my stuff in a few hours! Here is what I got to start: 8oz. Mason Jar (12pc case) Ecosoya CB 135 10 lb. Bag 1 oz. Honeysuckle Jasmine 1 oz. Cranberry Marmalade 1 oz. Mulberry 1 oz. Blueberry Cobbler Candle and Soap Scale Wick Bars Pouring Pitcher LX Series 6 inch Wick Kit Glue Dots 1000 pc. Box I am not adding dye. What temp would you heat too and what temp would you add fragrance? I am using the 8oz sq. mason jars. Thanks
