  1. I just received a sample from NG. I'm testing it in J223 with htp wicks and

I love it. Sharon's description was right on.........a little more raspberry

would make it perfect. It does smell really good though. I might mix it

with my sample of black raspberry vanilla and see how that does. The

black raspberry vanilla has more of a raspberry smell.

  2. I don't make tarts, but I have customers who are using my votives in their tart warmers. My question is, do they perform the same in terms of scent throw? I've tested my votives by burning them, but not in warmers. Just wondering if they will get the same results? Thanks for your input!

  3. Were you both using soy wax? I use their fo in paraffin J223 and 4625 and

get awesome throw with the scents that I mentioned. I do find that some of their scents are light and there are a bunch of scents that smell similar, like

have the same note........not sure if that makes sense. :undecided My favorite is cranberry.

  4. I get a few of my fragrance oils from them.......I absolutely love their cranberry! I also get mulberry and lemongrass from them. I like their almond too, I use it as a mixer. I like their Christmas Memories around the holidays. It smells just like Aromatique Scent of Christmas. HTH

  5. I've done this before, but it's been a while. I melted a little wax, added a little white color chip and scent and then let it cool. You have to keep whipping it with a spoon or small whisk while it cools. Then spread it on with a knife when it's nice and thick and easy to work with. HTH

  6. I use htp wicks with J223 with mixed results. I do, however, like them

better than zinc. I use the 11 oz tureen jars with 2 htp wicks, usually 52's.

I recently started experimenting with the 8 oz metro jars and have been

using one htp 83 with those. I have had no luck with votives and htp wicks,

but I'm using a different wax for votives, so that could be my problem. I like

that they do not mushroom and are easier to trim. If I marathon burn I do

still get jar soot, which I hate. If I can remember to trim wicks every few

hours during marathon burns it's much better. I'm just terrible about letting

    them burn all day!

  7. I second the Brown Sugar & Fig. OOB it smelled really light to me and I wasn't even sure I'd pour it. Someone suggested that I give it a try and it actually has an amazing throw. I was very surprised. I use J223 and have also found Sweet Cotton and Mulled Cider to be very strong.

  8. I got the Med Fig too and think it smells awesome! I made a candle with it yesterday with J223.......too impatient to let it cure, so I'm already burning it. I'm somewhat disappointed with hot throw. Cold throw was light too. Maybe it needs to cure a bit, but I normally don't cure more than a day or so. If I'd get off my butt and make some b&b products this scent would rock!

  9. Hey Dallas Texas Dean,

I know exactly what you mean in this post! Have you ever tried CC

neroli & cedar? I absolutely love it! I use J223, usually double wick htp,

and I get an awesome throw, pretty quickly too. It's very unique and

    woodsy.

Oh I am an addict too....but my

addiction is "the search". I keep buying FOs for wax trying to find something I am pleased with...to no avail. Maybe it doesn't exist. My fragrance addiction started years ago with Colognes (where it remains today when I admit it)

What is that definition for insanity? Something about doing the same thing over and over expecting different results?

oh I think that there are FOs that smell nice. Some that even smell great...but very rarely (almost never) do they throw as well as I would like....and very rarely are the fragrances as "different' as I would like for them to be. KWIM?

I know the "fruits" throw better than most others. I don't like fruits. I know that there is a HUGE selection of Bakery out there. I don't like Bakery. ( and to me, MANY of them smell rather similar..thinking that there are maybe 10 notes, tops, that are used over and over in different variations)

I won't get started on the florals....although I will say they do a fairly decent job of manufacturing florals that are "almost" there...IF and only IF you find the right ones. Ever got a rose or a jasmine that wasn't the right one? LOL PeeeeUUU

The "dupes" are usually a disappointment, or have been for me with men's fragrances. They just do not smell like the fragrance they are trying to dupe.

I would almost like them better as stand alone fragrances on their own without saying they are a dupe of something they aren't.

So, any of you addicts out there that can point me in a direction where I will find FOs so fabulous that I will want more of them, I would appreciate it!

    I love the earthy..woodsy(my faves)...greens....spas...oceans....GOOD florals..

NO: Blueberry- caramel waffle creme whip strudel with toasted coconut pecan sauce with a splash of Grand Pa's trip to Starbucks Hazelnut Latte Bean, please.:D

  10. I got a sample of the lavender vanilla and it's strong oob. It smells wonderful. I haven't poured it yet. I did pour Mediteranian Fig this morning and I love it!! Cannot wait to burn it!! Also love Honeysuckle Jasmine.....poured that today too. It reminds me of JS Hawaiian White Ginger. Probably too similar to carry both, but I still like it!

  11. My niece's MIL works in the McIlhenny gift store. What's your relative's name? Wouldn't that be funny if they were the same person?!!

I'm glad that you got to visit the area. It really has some beautiful sights. We go boating a lot during the summer at Avery Island. There are alligators everywhere, but I've never seen one gobble a bird before!

I think the area you are looking for with the geese must be around Gueydan

or Kaplan....not far from Cajun Candles. There are lots of rice fields in that area and around Crowley. I've never seen that field of geese, but I know a lot of hunters go to Gueydan to hunt geese.

Thanks for the pattern offer. I really wish I had more time to cross stitch. I loved doing it before I had children, now I have no idea where my time goes.

I started the cross stitch Christmas stockings when my first child was born.

My plan was to do one for each of us, which I finally accomplished, but my

youngest was about 5 before his was done!

I don't know any Badeaux's, but I have friend who was a Derouen.

Pam and Mike are awesome. I get lots of supplies from them.

  12. NewOrleansLady,

I'm actually in New Iberia, about 2 hours from New Orleans. I love the New Orleans court yard scenes and cajun hot sauce stuff. I've stitched a bunch of those type pictures. Do you ever visit Cajun Candles? I'm 45 minutes from them. I'm about 5 minutes away from McIlhenny at Avery Island where

    they make Tobasco.
